Nissan Prepares for the Arrival of the New X-Trail Hybrid in Brazil with e-Power Technology, Performance of Up to 204 Horsepower, Fuel Consumption Over 21 km per Liter, and Strategic Positioning to Compete with Consolidated Mid-Size SUVs While the National Market Observes How the Japanese Brand Plans to Compete in the Segment
Nissan has officially confirmed the arrival of the new X-Trail hybrid in Brazil, expanding its presence in the competitive segment of electrified mid-size SUVs. The model comes equipped with e-Power technology, capable of delivering up to 204 horsepower and a fuel consumption of over 21 km per liter, figures that stand out in the category.
The strategy positions the Nissan X-Trail above the Kicks in the national portfolio and directly against established rivals such as Jeep Compass, BYD Song Plus, and GWM H6, in a rapidly transforming market with the expansion of hybrid and electrified models.
Nissan Bets on e-Power Hybrid Technology to Enter the Competition

The main bet of Nissan for the X-Trail in Brazil is the e-Power hybrid system, a technology that operates differently from most hybrids available in the market.

Jaecoo 7 with super hybrid SHS system exceeds 1,200 km of combined range with a 1.5 turbo engine, high-density battery, and intelligent energy management.
In this system, the combustion engine mainly acts as a generator, powering the batteries that drive the electric motor responsible for traction. In practice, the vehicle behaves almost like an electric car, but without solely relying on external charging.
The mechanical set utilizes a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine with direct injection, combined with an electric motor. Together, they deliver around 204 horsepower and 33.6 kgfm of combined torque.
Another technical highlight is the presence of a variable compression ratio, a solution that allows optimizing energy efficiency and performance depending on driving conditions.
This type of engineering places the X-Trail among the most advanced hybrid projects offered by Nissan.
Dimensions and Space Place the X-Trail at the Heart of the Segment
In terms of size, the Nissan SUV arrives with measurements typical of the mid-size category, positioning itself close to models like the Toyota RAV4 and Ford Territory.
Among the main vehicle numbers are:
4.66 meters in length
2.70 meters in wheelbase
1.84 meters in width
1.72 meters in height
trunk space of about 500 liters
This configuration guarantees a spacious interior. The SUV can comfortably accommodate up to five adults, in addition to the possibility of a third row aimed at children.
The interior space is one of the points that Nissan intends to use as an argument to attract families and consumers seeking a larger hybrid SUV.
Design and Interior Reinforce the More Sophisticated Proposal
Visually, the new Nissan SUV follows the brand’s latest language, similar to that adopted in the Sentra sedan.
The front features a redesigned grille with chrome bars or black piano finish, as well as full LED headlights with a divided signature. On the sides, the model boasts two-tone paint, aluminum roof rack, and wheels that can reach 19 inches in the more complete versions.
At the rear, the assembly includes integrated spoiler, full LED taillights, and gray finishing on the bumper, reinforcing the modern look.
Inside, the proposal is for a more sophisticated environment. The SUV features a 12.3-inch digital panel, a 12.3-inch floating multimedia center, finishing with soft touch and leather upholstery, in addition to items such as premium sound, wireless phone charging, and panoramic sunroof.
There are also electric seats with heating and memory, dual-zone digital climate control, and various features aimed at occupant comfort.
Nissan aims to position the X-Trail as a technological, comfortable SUV focused on a premium experience within the segment.
Safety and Driver Assistance Elevate the Technological Package
The security package is also extensive. Even in the more basic versions, the SUV will likely feature six airbags, traction and stability control, collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist.
Another important feature is the automatic high beam, which improves nighttime visibility and contributes to safety on highways.
In the more complete versions, additional technologies are included, such as adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go function, as well as 360-degree high-definition camera system.
The presence of independent suspension on all four wheels also contributes to stability and comfort on different road surfaces.
This package places the model among the most comprehensive SUVs in the category regarding driver assistance.
Nissan Will Face Intense Competition in the Brazilian Market
The arrival of the X-Trail puts Nissan in one of the most competitive segments of the Brazilian market.
Among the main rivals of the new SUV are Jeep Compass, BYD Song Plus, GWM Haval H6, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and Caoa Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, all positioned in the range of electrified or hybrid mid-size SUVs.
The price has not been officially confirmed yet, but it may vary depending on the production origin of the vehicle.
If the model comes directly from Japan, estimates suggest that the price could exceed R$ 300,000 in the Brazilian market.
If Nissan opts for importation from Mexico, a country with trade agreements with Brazil, prices could range from R$ 250,000 to R$ 280,000, making the SUV more competitive against rivals.
This logistical decision can directly influence the model’s competitiveness in the country.
The arrival of the new X-Trail shows that Nissan intends to compete more aggressively in the hybrid SUV segment in Brazil, betting on e-Power technology, energy efficiency, and a complete package of comfort and safety.
With up to 204 horsepower and fuel consumption over 21 km per liter, the model emerges as a relevant alternative in a rapidly growing market with electrification.
Now an Inevitable Question Arises.
Does the new Nissan SUV really have the strength to compete with Compass, Song Plus, and H6 in Brazil, or will it arrive too late in a segment that has already become extremely competitive?
Leave your opinion in the comments: Does the X-Trail have the potential to become one of the most desired hybrid SUVs in the country, or will it just be another competitor in an increasingly crowded market?
