In a Significant Move in the Automotive and Logistics Landscape, the Renault Group, the Volvo Group, and the CMA CGM Group Announced a Strategic Partnership for the Development of a New Generation of Electric Vans.
This venture aims to meet the growing need for efficient and decarbonized logistics, anticipating future regulations on CO2 emissions in the transport of goods.
According to information provided by Renault, the three companies plan to invest 300 million euros each over the next three years to foster this innovation. The establishment of the new company is expected to begin in early 2024, subject to the completion of all regulatory approval processes. The future company will operate under its own corporate identity and will be based in France.

By 2030, the European electrified van market is expected to triple, creating a vast opportunity for this new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) offering. The initiative particularly focuses on the expanding e-commerce and vehicle rental businesses.
