This choice of materials contrasts with that of some direct competitors. The Hyundai HB20, for instance, is often praised in comparisons for offering an interior environment with better quality materials and more pleasant ergonomics.
The simplicity of the Onix’s finish may frustrate consumers looking for a more premium experience in the top-of-the-line version.
What Do the MyLink System and OnStar Offer?
To compensate for the simplicity of the interior, Chevrolet strongly invests in technology. The Onix Premier comes with the MyLink multimedia system with an 8-inch screen, which offers wireless mirroring for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The model’s big differentiator, however, is the OnStar system with native 4G Wi-Fi. This technology, which is not found in direct rivals, turns the car into an internet hotspot for up to seven devices and offers security and emergency services, such as vehicle recovery assistance in case of theft. The technological package is complemented by digital air conditioning, keyless entry, and push-button start.
