Strongly Used in the National Industry for Aerosol Production, Special Propane Gas Will Be the New Production Focus of the Mataripe Refinery, Located in Bahia, According to Acelen, Which Now Aims at This Segment for the Future of Its Structure.

Even with just a few months at the helm of the Mataripe Refinery, located in the state of Bahia, Acelen is focusing on a new production to expand its presence in the national market, special propane gas. This product will be produced for the first time by the oil and natural gas refinery and will be directed to the Brazilian industry, primarily for use in the production of aerosol-type products.

Mataripe Refinery Will Produce Special Propane Gas for the First Time and Acelen Aims at the Brazilian Industry with a New Acquisition to Its Portfolio

Acelen surprised the oil, natural gas, and fuel market this past week and announced the entry of special propane gas into its lineup of over 30 products manufactured and sold in the country.

This will be the first time in the history of the Mataripe Refinery, located in the Bahia region, that the gas will undergo production, refining, and commercialization processes with the national industry.

The product is highly profitable for the productive chains of the Brazilian industry, mainly in regulating the exit pressure in aerosol packaging, and will be Acelen’s new bet for the future of its presence in the national market.

Additionally, special propane is still one of the most sustainable and clean options for minimizing environmental impacts regarding aerosol-type products. This is because it replaces CFC (chlorofluorocarbon), one of the biggest pollutants and aggressors of the ozone layer.

Thus, Acelen’s Commercial Director, Josué Mateus Bohn, commented on the future of the fuel market in Brazil with the new production from the Mataripe Refinery and stated that “Even though it is fossil-based, this new product from the Mataripe Refinery represents a less environmentally aggressive solution, reinforcing Acelen’s commitment to the evolution of the energy market in Brazil, which includes the continuous search for renewable and sustainable solutions.” These are the main reasons that led Acelen to choose special propane as the new bet for the Brazilian industry.

Demand for Special Propane in the Brazilian Industry Is High and the Company Aims to Use Positive Scenario to Expand Its Presence in the National Market

Due to its use in aerosol-type products, such as cosmetics, paints, veterinary products, pharmaceuticals, industrial, food, among others, the demand for special propane is constantly growing in the national industry.

Thus, the choice of the product as the main focus in the Brazilian market reinforces Acelen’s position to strengthen relationships with its customers, generate even more value for its business, and expand the refinery’s product portfolio, thereby attracting the attention that the Mataripe Refinery deserves for its presence in the fuel sector.

Acelen has been heavily investing in expanding the production and product portfolio of the Mataripe Refinery since taking over the structure a few months ago.

Currently, the company produces and refines over 30 products at the refinery, including aviation kerosene, asphalt, paraffins, lubricants, petrochemical naphtha, LP gas, and fuel oils, but the company intends to expand these numbers even further.

The company, which owns the Mataripe Refinery, currently represents 15% of the total refining capacity in Brazil and supplies over 50% of the Northeast, in addition to being a leader in paraffin sales in Latin America and the largest exporter in the state of Bahia, now aiming for growth in the national industry.
