Alerj approved a bill that encourages the financing of solar energy for active and inactive civil servants, military personnel and pensioners in Rio de Janeiro. The project has already been forwarded to the state governor and should come into effect in the coming months.
A bill that facilitates the financing and acquisition of solar energy services by active and inactive civil servants, pensioners and military personnel was approved in RJ this Wednesday (9). This is the bill (PL) 3.830/2021, approved by the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj). Upon approval of the project, the amount will be automatically deducted from the payroll. The text aimed at financing solar energy will be forwarded to the state governor, Cláudio Castro, who will have about 15 days to veto or sanction the Bill.

The Bill is authored by licensed deputy Max Lemos (PSDB) and guarantees access to solar energy in the house or in another property indicated by the server, with payment in installments in a consigned form.

Márcio Pacheco (PSC), representative of Alerj's Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ), voted for the Bill to finance solar energy to be approved with five amendments. The Defense of the Environment, Mines and Energy, Public Servants and Budget commissions followed the CCJ's vote in RJ.
RJ will align tax burden of solar energy service with municipalities
In an assessment, Deputy Luiz Paulo (Cidadania), special rapporteur of the Bill for the financing of solar energy in RJ, stated that the approval of Alerj will make an intense contribution to the environment, saving energy and also improving the situation of the public servant. , considering that the values of the energy bills of the servers will decrease with the use of renewable energy.
According to the PL, the government of RJ must align the tax burden of the service with the municipalities, taking into account the state policy of fomenting the source. Suppliers of solar energy systems should also be consulted about service fees and prices.
