Amid A Rising Biodiesel Prices Throughout 2022, The ANP Announced A Significant Increase In Production Volume. Brazilian Plants Reached The Mark Of 2.19 Million M³ Of Biodiesel During The Last Two Bimonths.
Even in a year of instability regarding exploration and production projects in Brazil, the numbers for 2022 are quite optimistic. Last Wednesday (12/07), the National Agency of Petroleum and Biofuels (ANP) announced a production volume of 2.19 million m³ of biodiesel in Brazilian plants. However, the product reached its highest price level this week.
Biodiesel Production In Brazilian Plants Reaches 2.19 Million M³ During The Last Two Bimonths In The Brazilian Market, According To ANP
The year 2022 was quite tumultuous regarding biofuel projects in the national market due to the supply crisis caused by conflicts in Europe and the constant adjustments by Petrobras in product prices.
Despite this, the ANP released the latest production volumes for some fuels, and biodiesel stood out significantly, as it reached the mark of 2.19 million m³ produced.

The volume produced during the last two bimonths of the fuel exceeded the contracted amounts at the plants.
According to data released by the ANP over the past week, distributors had contracted the delivery of 2.15 million m³ of biodiesel at the national plants during the last two bimonths.
Thus, the production volume was about 34,500 m³ — 1.6% above the expected for these months.
The positive numbers are mainly due to the 4th bimonth (4B). In it, biodiesel deliveries surpassed the contracted volume by 3.1%. Meanwhile, in the 5th bimonth (5B), the balance was right on the limit, with delivery performance hitting 100.2%.
Both bimonths were very positive for the supply of biofuels in the national market. The trend for the coming months is that the production volume continues to be high.
Even With High Production, Biodiesel Reaches The Highest Price Levels In The Last 19 Weeks, Reveals The Agency
The increase in biodiesel production volumes in the national market did not exempt it from significant price increases in Brazil.
In the price sheet released by the ANP this week, the price of each cubic meter of biodiesel in the 49th week of the year (49S) was R$ 6,201.62 — a 1% increase from the previous cycle.
This is the seventh consecutive week in which the product’s price is rising. Thus, biodiesel prices are approaching the levels they were at between July 25 and 31, when it was traded for R$ 6,214.55.
The major price highlights are in the North and Northeast regions. There, distributors need to pay, on average, R$ 6,307.65 per m³ for the purchase of the biofuel.
