Accident Happened During the Huet Course and After Verification of the Video’s Authenticity, Petrobras Suspended Enrollment for Courses at Training School
The video that your portal Click Petróleo e Gás (CPG) is providing at the end of this article prompted a report to Sindipetro-NF.
It clearly shows, during the submerged aircraft escape course at a training school, the student getting trapped by the safety belt of the structure when it was tipped over, preventing their escape during the simulation.
From there, what can be seen are scenes of desperation from the divers and other people at the edge of the pool, trying to free the worker and keep the structure in a position that would allow the victim to breathe.
As soon as Sindipetro-NF became aware of the video, they forwarded it to Petrobras’ SMS area, which suspended enrollments at the training school starting today (07/01).

The Note from Petrobras
Petrobras’ SMS management, after the reports from Sindipetro-NF, stated: “Dear all, due to reports of non-compliance with minimum safety conditions during training, we inform that all enrollments at this institution are suspended starting next Monday, 07/01, and that inquiries will be made with the supplier and the Brazilian Navy to ensure that they are fit to continue providing services for Petrobras.”
What the Union Says
Sindipetro-NF considered the circumstances surrounding the accident to be extremely serious and advocates for a thorough investigation of the facts, which revealed not only equipment failure but also the unpreparedness of the support team to perform the immediate rescue of the student.
The union also emphasized its desire to monitor the investigations alongside regulatory bodies regarding the conditions of the training school.
