ArcelorMittal will start contracting for 920 temporary vacancies for pollution reduction works. Hiring starts soon

ArcelorMittal Tubarão will open 920 temporary jobs for professional mechanics, electricians, welders, boilermakers and refractory bricklayers. The contractors will work on environmental works to reduce pollution and implement a seawater desalination plant.

The companies ThyssenKrupp and RIP will be responsible for the works and will contract. 700 temporary vacancies will be allocated for the construction of the coke battery. The steelmaker emphasizes that it will give priority to residents of the municipality of Serra.

  • Where to apply: at Sine da Serra, located in Portal de Jacaraípe. Spaces are not yet available and should be offered soon.

Spaces, however, are not yet available. The expectation is that opportunities will be made available through Sine da Serra. They will be offered according to the company's needs and the forecast is that hiring will start soon.

For the works, investments will be of R$ 1,14 billion, with short, medium and long term projects. The Term of Environmental Commitment (TCA) had already been signed with the public authorities in 2018.

ArcelorMittal informed that the seawater desalination project works will generate 220 jobs, 160 of which will be direct labor (civil works and assembly) and 8 employees in operation and maintenance. For this stage, hiring will be carried out by Fluence, the company that won the competition for the supply and assembly of the plant.

The company also intends to enhance opportunities for local companies, through Findes and Ases. The project is expected to start in April this year.

  • Vacancies: 220, of which 160 were hired directly and 8 were employees.
  • Positions: civil and electromechanical work.
  • Where to apply: contracts made by Fluence, the company responsible for the work.
