During AveSui 2025, the Governor of Paraná Highlighted the Sustainable, Technological and Cooperative Advancement of the Animal Protein Chain, Reaffirming the National Protagonism of the Parana Agricultural Business
The AveSui 2025 reaffirmed Paraná’s role as a national powerhouse in animal protein production, combining technology, sustainability and efficient management, according to a report published.
Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior highlighted, during the event in Cascavel, that the State is experiencing a cycle of economic growth driven by agro-industrialization and cooperative strength.
According to him, the state Gross Domestic Product is expected to nearly double in eight years, a result of the integration between field and industry and the adoption of sustainable productive practices.

China banned the export of 22 tons of meat from Argentina.

JBS, founded by the Batista brothers, continues to conquer the world: entrepreneurs built a ‘factory in the desert’ creating 3,000 jobs.

With only 1% of Brazil’s territory, Santa Catarina has built one of the most competitive industrial parks in the country, with 64,000 companies, nearly 1 million jobs, and a growth rate of 5.3% while the national industry is practically stagnant.
Organized by Gessulli Agrimídia, the fair has established itself as the largest gathering of the meat production chain in Latin America, bringing together hundreds of national and international exhibitors.
The event attracted delegations of producers and entrepreneurs from four states: Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo, reinforcing Cascavel’s role as a strategic hub for Brazilian agribusiness.
AveSui 2025: Technology and Innovation Strengthen the Parana Animal Protein Chain
The expansion of animal protein production was the main highlight of AveSui 2025, which presented solutions aimed at productive efficiency, animal welfare, and rational use of natural resources.
The governor emphasized that Paraná is a national leader in chicken meat and fish, in addition to being second in pork production.
In 2024, the state’s poultry flock reached 456 million birds, a 2.4% increase over the previous year, representing 29% of the national herd.
In the pig sector, the performance was also significant: the State reached 7.3 million heads, a 5.3% increase over 2023, consolidating western Paraná, especially the municipality of Toledo, as the largest producing hub in Brazil.
Aquaculture, in turn, kept Paraná in the national lead, with 27% of Brazilian production and a market value close to R$ 2 billion.
Tilapia alone accounted for 38% of national production, with 7.6 thousand tons exported, which corresponds to 70% of the country’s external sales.
These figures reinforce the importance of AveSui 2025 as a showcase for innovation in the sector.
During the opening, the governor announced R$ 12.5 million in new investments aimed at infrastructure and strengthening the productive chain in the western region, reaffirming the government’s commitment to agro-industrial development.
Sustainability and Renewable Energy Highlighted in the Field
Sustainability was one of the central focuses of AveSui 2025, reflecting the State’s priority in integrating productive efficiency and environmental preservation.
The Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, Marcio Nunes, highlighted public policies that modernize the field, such as the Descomplica Rural program, which simplified environmental licensing and ensured legal security for producers.
He emphasized that Paraná is “transforming vegetable proteins into animal proteins with efficiency and environmental respect,” promoting sustainable growth.
Among the ongoing initiatives, Renova Paraná and Paraná Energia Sustentável expand access to solar energy and reduce operational costs, while Estradas Rurais allocates R$ 3 billion for the paving and conservation of roads in the countryside.
These actions create a favorable environment for the expansion of cooperatives and the strengthening of agro-industry, integrating innovation and environmental responsibility.
AveSui 2025 was also the stage for the delivery of the Susaf Seal to two new municipalities, Campo Bonito and Três Barras do Paraná, totaling 199 certified cities.
The seal ensures sanitary standards required by the Municipal Inspection Service, expanding the commercialization of products within the State.
Cooperativism, Jobs, and Regional Development in Agribusiness
Cooperativism was highly valued at AveSui 2025, establishing itself as the engine of agricultural development in Paraná.
Governor Ratinho Junior reminded that the industrialization of field products allowed the State to generate jobs and solidify as “one of the largest food producers in the world.”
The livestock sector also showed significant results, with an 8.7% growth in 2024 and a production value of R$ 17.3 billion.
Paraná remains the largest producer of honey in the country, with 9.8 thousand tons, in addition to achieving a historical record in the chicken egg market, reaching R$ 3 billion.
These indicators show the direct economic impact of cooperatives and the state policy aimed at productive innovation.
The director of Gessulli Agrimídia, Andrea Gessulli, highlighted that the State has ideal conditions to host the fair, as it is a reference in public policies and infrastructure.
She emphasized that Paraná is “the capital of Brazilian agribusiness,” capable of attracting investments and developing cutting-edge technologies.
The fair’s program included the 23rd Brazilian Congress on Precision in Animal Production, forums on innovation and technology, and the delivery of the “Who is Who” award, which recognizes the best cooperatives in the country.
Thus, the event reinforced its position as a space for networking and dissemination of technical knowledge in agribusiness.
The AveSui 2025 concluded by reaffirming that the productive strength of Paraná is sustained by innovation, cooperation, and environmental commitment, a combination that positions the State as a global reference in animal protein and sustainability.
