Bahia And Foreign Companies Discuss Installation Of An Industrial Hub Focused On The Production Of Equipment For Wind Power Generation And Energy Transition Technologies

Bahia is discussing with suppliers from the Chinese company Goldwind the creation of a new renewable energy industrial park in Bahia focused on the manufacture of renewable energy generation equipment. During an official mission from the Government of Bahia to China, between May 10 and 13, 2025, Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues met with representatives from seven companies that already operate with Goldwind in the Asian country. The meeting was held on May 11 at the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing. The goal was to present the logistical conditions, available infrastructure, and incentives offered by the state to host new industrial ventures focused on clean energy.

Meeting With Chinese Companies Reinforces Cooperation For Sustainable Development

The president of BahiaInveste, Paulo Guimarães, participated in the meeting and emphasized the potential of Bahia as a safe and strategic destination for investments in clean energy. Furthermore, during the meeting, Goldwind reaffirmed its interest in expanding the unit installed in Camaçari, inaugurated in November 2023. Thus, the creation of an industrial park with suppliers close to the current plant aims to reduce logistical costs and simultaneously improve timelines. In addition, this structure aims, above all, to stimulate local production and consequently strengthen the regional industrial chain in the energy sector. According to the Government of Bahia, this partnership model tends to generate qualified jobs and also boost the economic and technological advancement of the state.

Goldwind Assesses Expansion Of Its Production Capacity In Bahia

The Goldwind factory in Camaçari was inaugurated as part of the company’s international expansion strategy. During the meeting in China, representatives from the company signaled the possibility of tripling production capacity in Bahia, provided that suppliers settle around the plant. The Secretary of Economic Development estimates that this expansion could generate up to a thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region. The measure also aims to make the state more competitive and ready to meet the growing demand for wind generation equipment in Brazil. This scenario reinforces the potential of the renewable energy industrial park in Bahia as a driver of technological and economic development for the state.

Industrial Hub Aims To Strengthen The Wind Energy Productive Chain

The new industrial park, currently under study, aims to locally produce parts and components used in wind energy generation, which favors the regional economy. In addition, the strategy aims to attract strategic suppliers, strengthen national production, improve logistical efficiency, and above all, reduce external dependency. As a result, Bahia, already recognized for its leadership in clean energy production, intends to expand its industrial capacity through sustainable solutions. Thus, the state invests in advanced technologies and innovation, ensuring greater competitiveness in the energy sector and driving sustainable economic development.

BahiaInveste Bets On Sustainable Expansion And Job Creation

In a statement given to the press on May 13, 2025, Paulo Guimarães stated that Bahia is prepared to welcome new investments in the clean energy sector without compromising sustainability. He stated that the industrial expansion could make Goldwind even more competitive, as well as transform the state into a logistics hub for exporting renewable energy equipment to other countries in South America. Bahia’s strategic location is considered a differential for the realization of these projects.

Goldwind Also Assesses Projects With Green Hydrogen And Renewable Methanol

In addition to expanding the wind turbine factory, Goldwind is studying the feasibility of producing green hydrogen and renewable methanol in Bahia. According to representatives from the company, these projects are in the technical and environmental analysis phase. The company’s experience with these technologies in China may facilitate adaptation to local natural resources and infrastructure. The use of these alternative sources is seen as essential for the global energy transition and for meeting decarbonization targets set by international agreements.

Company Has Global Operations And Invests In Technological Innovation

Goldwind is present in more than 40 countries and employs over six thousand employees. According to the financial report released in March 2025, the company achieved a revenue of US$ 7.82 billion in the previous year. Its operations include the manufacture of wind turbines, the operation of energy generation parks, and the provision of technical maintenance and monitoring services. The focus on innovation, automation, and sustainability positions the company as a benchmark in the sector and reinforces the strategic importance of its presence in Bahia.

Government Of Bahia Reinforces Commitment To Energy Transition

During an interview held after the return from the international mission, on May 13, 2025, Jerônimo Rodrigues stated that Bahia is committed to leading the energy transition in the country. According to the governor, the state will continue to seek partnerships with companies that operate with innovation and environmental responsibility. He emphasized that negotiations with Goldwind and its suppliers are still ongoing, but mutual interest shows that the business environment in Bahia is promising and aligned with the demands of the modern energy sector.
