Company Offers Consulting Services, Materiality Matrix and Sustainability Report, Developed with Support from Bureau Veritas, Demonstrating Commitment to Sustainable Practices
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC), conducted an assessment of the ESG practices implemented by BEVAP, one of the most technologically advanced plants in Brazil for the production of ethanol, sugar, and co-generation of electric energy. The scope of services included consulting on the level of maturity in ESG, materiality matrix, and the development of the sustainability report. BEVAP’s goal is to reinforce its sustainable commitment to stakeholders.
“It is increasingly important for commodity producers to demonstrate their sustainable practices, especially in a scenario where the entire global market is concerned about climate issues. Through the work provided by Bureau Veritas, BEVAP shows itself as a company committed to sustainability and meets stakeholder expectations,” explains Andressa Lisboa, Director of Certification and Audit at Bureau Veritas.
“Our goal is to solidify the ESG agenda at BEVAP, and Bureau Veritas is assisting us in implementing a business strategy linked to sustainability, enhancing our performance in this new challenge. Our differential is water management and technology, but we want to show that we are also a company focused on the entire ESG agenda, from biodiversity protection to people development, diversity, and inclusion,” states Adaiane Pereira de Souza, Sustainability Manager at BEVAP.

The scope of services provided for BEVAP includes the sustainability report, which includes all company information and indicators (GRI Standards and proprietary). In addition, Bureau Veritas also conducted the materiality matrix service, which involves consulting the company’s stakeholders on what is most relevant to disclose regarding governance, environmental, and social pillars, along with the internal ESG consulting service, in which the Group presented an action plan, highlighting gaps and opportunities that can be leveraged. With the three products, BEVAP is paving its sustainability journey in a more consistent, transparent, and assertive manner.
BEVAP has consolidated its commitments in ESG based on the most relevant topics for stakeholders, reported in the materiality report and based on the key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. Among the topics are health, safety, and well-being of employees; water management; ethics, integrity, and transparency; people development, diversity, and inclusion; respect for human rights; waste management; conservation and protection of biodiversity; climate strategy. The main focus in the environmental agenda will be on reducing water consumption, improving water safety, and increasing renewable business. In the social agenda, the goals are linked to promoting training and capacity-building courses for the community, with affirmative vacancies for women. In governance, supply policies and integrity audit development for service providers will be implemented.
