Brazilians continue to leave billions of reais forgotten in bank accounts and other financial resources while the Central Bank works to return these amounts to their rightful owners. By the end of July, unclaimed resources totaled an impressive R$ 8.56 billion, according to data released by the Central Bank (BC) itself. This amount is available for consultation in the System of Values to Receive (SVR), an essential tool for those looking to check if they have any amount available to withdraw. Despite efforts, a large portion of beneficiaries still has not made the redemption.
Almost Two-Thirds Of Beneficiaries Still Have Not Withdrawn Their Amounts To Receive From The Central Bank
By the end of July, the Central Bank had already refunded R$ 7.67 billion, representing 32.8% of the total amount of R$ 16.23 billion that financial institutions made available in the System of Values to Receive.
Since the launch of the program in February 2022, the SVR has allowed Brazilians, both individuals and legal entities, to check if they have any amounts available to withdraw. However, of a total of more than 67 million account holders included in the system, only just over 22 million have redeemed their amounts.

Among the beneficiaries who have already withdrawn their amounts, 20.6 million are individuals, while 1.59 million companies have also accessed their resources. However, there are still 41.87 million individuals and 3.61 million companies that have not made the redemption of their amounts to receive. The Central Bank continues to encourage everyone to check if they have any amounts available to withdraw, as many may not even know they are entitled to these resources.
Amounts To Receive Vary Between Small Amounts And Significant Sums
An interesting aspect of the amounts to receive is the large disparity in the amounts available to beneficiaries. Most people and companies still have modest amounts to receive. According to the Central Bank, 63.01% of the amounts to receive are up to R$ 10.
Another 25.32% of account holders are entitled to amounts between R$ 10.01 and R$ 100. More substantial amounts, ranging from R$ 100.01 to R$ 1,000, represent 9.88% of account holders, while only 1.78% of beneficiaries are entitled to amounts exceeding R$ 1,000. Even though small amounts are the norm, it is important that everyone check, as any amount can be useful.
If you have not yet checked if you have any amount available to withdraw, the Central Bank provides consultation quickly and easily through the SVR. The process can be done online, allowing you to see immediately if you have any amount to receive.
Central Bank Improves The System Of Values To Receive And Adds New Features
Since its relaunch in March 2023, the System of Values to Receive has gone through several significant improvements. The Central Bank has enhanced the consultation and scheduling process for redemption, making the system more accessible to users.
Now, beneficiaries can print the consultation screens and request protocols, facilitating the sharing of this information via WhatsApp, for example. The SVR has also begun to include more categories of amounts to receive, meaning that more people can find forgotten resources.
One of the most important improvements was the introduction of a virtual waiting room, eliminating the need for a consultation schedule based on birth year or company founding date. This means that everyone can access the system at any time without having to wait for a specific period.
Another relevant innovation is the possibility to consult amounts belonging to deceased individuals. Heirs, administrators, and legal representatives can now access and redeem amounts to receive on behalf of a deceased loved one, a process that was once significantly more complex. This transparency in the system also benefits those who have joint accounts, as any holder can view detailed information about the redemption of amounts.
Expansion Of The System Allows Closed Companies To Also Consult Amounts To Receive
Recently, the Central Bank announced another important update to the System of Values to Receive, allowing companies with inactive CNPJ to check if they have any amount available to withdraw.
Previously, closed companies could not make this consultation due to the lack of digital certification. Now, legal representatives can use their personal Gov.br accounts to access the system and check amounts for companies that have already ceased their activities.
The process requires the representative to sign a liability term to carry out the consultation. This measure, similar to the consultation of amounts for deceased individuals, expands the reach of the SVR and allows more forgotten resources to be returned to their rightful owners.
Scams Related To Amounts To Receive Are Increasingly Frequent, Warns Central Bank
With the increase in the number of consultations and redemptions in the SVR, the Central Bank has issued alerts for account holders to be cautious of possible scams. Fraudsters are taking advantage of the situation and offering intermediation services for the redemption of amounts, often charging fees for a service that is completely free.
The Central Bank emphasizes that it does not send links or contact beneficiaries directly. All procedures for consulting and redeeming amounts to receive are done directly through the official website of the Central Bank, via the System of Values to Receive, and there is no need for intermediaries. The financial institution responsible for the amount is the only one authorized to contact the citizen, and no password should be provided to third parties.
With these guidelines, the Central Bank hopes that more Brazilians will consult and redeem their amounts to receive safely, without falling victim to scams. Don’t leave your money forgotten in the financial system – check the SVR and see if you have any amount available to withdraw.
