BR-364, the main integration corridor in Rondônia, enters a new phase starting this Monday (12/1): the electronic toll in a free-flow system begins operating on the stretch granted to Nova 364.
Without barriers and stops, the toll is automatically recorded by portals along the highway. The operation was authorized by ANTT after inspections and analyses concluded in December 2025 and changes the routine of those who use BR-364 for work, cargo transport, commuting, and access to essential services.
How the Electronic Toll in Free Flow Works
At the electronic toll, the driver continues their trip without needing to stop at a physical toll booth. The passage is automatically recorded by portals installed on BR-364, and the charge is linked to the vehicle that traveled through the granted stretch.

Where the Seven Charging Points Are on BR-364
In total, seven charging points will start operating on the stretch granted to Nova 364. The electronic toll portals are distributed across the municipalities of Candeias do Jamari, Cujubim, Ariquemes, Ouro Preto do Oeste, Presidente Médici, and Pimenta Bueno, which will have two sections with charges.
With free flow, these points cease to exist as visible plazas with queues and booths. The driver crosses BR-364 and continues, while the system records the passage at the corresponding portal of the used stretch.
This distribution also helps explain why the experience of traveling changes in practice. The charge occurs without interruption, and the verification of passages and amounts happens later, upon plate consultation or through TAG.
Why the Charge Starts Now and What ANTT Evaluated
Although the contract provided for up to a year to complete the initial works, Nova 364 expedited the mandatory works and services. ANTT conducted on-site inspections, technical analyses, and document verifications, which were completed in December 2025.
Items such as pavement, signage, technological systems, user service, and road safety were assessed.
No charge begins without full compliance with contractual requirements, and the start of the electronic toll was authorized only after confirming compliance.
The change, therefore, is not just the installation of portals. It is the operation of a system, with ongoing supervision by ANTT, contracted values, and defined procedures for charging, payment, and user assistance on BR-364.
Investments and 4G Network Throughout the Concession
Before the charging began, the concessionaire reported an investment of about R$ 360 million in BR-364.
The investments, which started in 2025, include noticeable improvements in infrastructure, focusing on road safety, maintenance, operational structure, and raising the standard of service for the user.
Among the ongoing initiatives is the implementation of a 4G network along the granted extension. The works began in 2025 and follow the contractual schedule, which anticipates completion of the service by the 36th month of the concession, in 2027.
For the user, connectivity has a direct impact on operation. More signal along BR-364 means more access to information and support, especially in sections that historically lacked coverage, and helps integrate consultation, guidance, and assistance along the journey.
User Service and Operational Structure on BR-364
According to Nova 364, operational services on BR-364 began in September 2025, and continuous service commenced on December 15, 2025.
According to the company, over 3,300 services have been provided, with emphasis on mechanical breakdowns, driver assistance, and 129 occurrences requiring pre-hospital care.
The highway has 14 operational bases strategically distributed, equipped with inspection vehicles, light and heavy tow trucks, ambulances, fire-fighting trucks, and vehicles dedicated to handling higher complexity occurrences.
This operational package is not a detail. On a highway that serves as an integration corridor, rapid response and continuous support become part of the user experience, aligning electronic toll with a service standard that includes inspection, assistance, and support along the granted stretch.
How Much It Costs: Rates, Adjustments, and Values per Charging Point
The electronic toll rates follow the values and rules defined in the concession contract, with ongoing supervision by ANTT.
The rates were adjusted by the Tariff Adjustment Index (IRT), based on the IPCA, resulting in a variation of 9.55%.
For automobiles, vans, and light trucks, in category 1, the rates vary depending on the stretch, starting at R$ 5.40.
In category 1, the values defined per charging point are: R$ 5.40 in Candeias do Jamari, R$ 37.00 in Cujubim, R$ 19.30 in Ariquemes, R$ 25.00 in Ouro Preto do Oeste, R$ 12.50 in Presidente Médici, R$ 10.20 in Pimenta Bueno, and R$ 35.40 in the second stretch of Pimenta Bueno.
With free flow, the portal reading records the passage and directs the charge for payment within the defined timeframe. The logic changes, but the rate follows a contractual rule, with the user consulting and settling the passage through the provided channels.
Who Has Free Pass and Who Remains Exempt
Motorcycles have a free pass on the granted stretch of BR-364. Ambulatory vehicles, official vehicles, and those of the Diplomatic Corps remain exempt, provided they are registered, as stipulated in the contract.
These rules apply to electronic tolls and the automatic charge recorded at the portals. Registration is the condition for maintaining exemption, and monitoring is under the supervision of ANTT, which remains responsible for overseeing the operation and safeguarding the rights of those who travel on the highway.
How to Pay with TAG and What Discounts Apply
Those who use TAG have automatic charging at the electronic toll and access to benefits outlined in the contract. There is a Basic Tariff Discount (DBT) of 5% for passenger vehicles and trucks.
For passenger vehicles, there is also the Frequent User Discount (DUF), with progressive reductions starting from the second passage in the same month.
In practice, those repeatedly crossing BR-364 tend to see differences in the final amount when using TAG and passing through free flow.
Apart from reducing the steps in payment, TAG helps transform the electronic toll into something almost invisible along the route. The charge occurs without interruption, and the discount is applied automatically, according to the rules of DBT and DUF.
How to Pay Without TAG, 30-Day Deadline, and Where to Consult Passages
Those who do not have TAG can also pay the electronic toll. Consultation and payment can be made through the Nova 364 app or the official website, using Pix or a credit card.
There are also physical kiosks installed at the 14 User Service Centers (SAUs), where it is possible to consult passages and make payments using the vehicle license plate.
The deadline for payment is up to 30 days after passing through the portal.
The system allows vehicle registration, checking values by plate, and tracking passages, providing the driver with a clear way to organize free flow payments.
If there are any doubts, the concessionaire provides assistance via phone at 0800 0364 364, as well as an app, website, and in-person support at the SAUs.
The guidance is to consult, check, and pay within the deadline, especially in the first days of operation, when the model is still a novelty for many users.
Citizen Service and Support for Those with Digital Difficulties
The model was designed to be simple and accessible. The elderly, people with disabilities, and users with difficulties accessing digital resources can rely on telephone support, an app, a website, and in-person assistance at the User Service Centers (SAUs), including the possibility of remote assistance at kiosks.
The introduction of free flow on BR-364 is presented as a milestone in modernizing the granted road infrastructure.
ANTT will continue to monitor the operation permanently, overseeing compliance with the contract and the functioning of the charging and support routines.
In the end, the electronic toll becomes a component of a larger package: smoother traffic, continuous operational services, and support channels.
The change only truly works when the user understands how to consult and pay, and when the operation delivers safety and assistance in the daily experience of the highway.
