Brazil Is Russia’s Main Trading Partner in Latin America

The Entrepreneurs Forum, organized by the RSPP with the support of the Russian Trade Representation in Brazil, has become a platform to expand contacts and discuss joint projects and existing issues in the development of Russian-Brazilian commercial, economic, and investment cooperation.

The president of the RSPP, Alexander Shokhin, who opened the event, highlighted the importance of bilateral relations: “Brazil is our main trading partner in Latin America. And this Forum allows us to chart paths to strengthen relations between our countries. Basic industries such as energy, infrastructure, communications, and pharmaceuticals remain promising areas. But others quickly emerge – IT, digital technologies, robotization, and ESG practices.”

For Brazil, the Fourth Industrial Revolution Is Not Just a Trend, but a State Priority

“For Brazil, the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not just a trend but a state priority, and we are ready to share experiences using all the competencies we have accumulated in the field of digitization,” said Pavel Rastopshin, General Director of the Russian group Zyfra.

Speaking at the Forum, Pavel Rastopshin talked to Brazilian entrepreneurs about relevant Russian products for the digitization of technological processes in production: “We have long-term partnerships with South America and see great prospects for expanding existing contacts. Digital technologies in industry are undoubtedly a reliable driver for solving many urgent problems, both in business and in the public sector.”

At the event, Brazilian entrepreneurs learned about the opportunity to obtain “turnkey” solutions using the Internet of Things, machine learning, and artificial intelligence for their businesses. Zyfra offered potential partners the introduction of a flagship product of its own design – the Zyfra Industrial IoT Platform, and also discussed the possibilities of introducing smart transport technologies – unmanned haulers and autonomous drilling rigs for mining companies.

“According to analysts, the introduction of software and hardware in industry can increase the country’s GDP by up to 5% in a few years, mainly due to increased productivity and reduced production losses. Russia and Brazil are similar, not only in terms of GDP indicators but also in terms of industrial share in total GDP, which is why we are united by common tasks and prospects,” concluded Pavel Rastopshin.

The Russia-Brazil Business Councils Forum took place on the eve of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro’s visit to Russia.
