The Number Of Brazilians Working From Home For Foreign Companies Grows By Nearly 500%. Pandemic And Benefits Of The Model Are Pointed Out As Main Causes.

According to data from a research by the international transfer fintech Husky, the number of Brazilians working from home for foreign companies increased by 491% between 2020 and 2022.

In concrete numbers, the company recorded 1,251 users of its services in March 2020. By November of last year, this number was 11,284. The company states that one of the main factors for the surge in Brazilians working from home is linked to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, which ended up popularizing the work-from-home model.

Companies Look For IT Sector Professionals

Even though the pandemic has eased, many companies and professionals continued to adopt this mode of operation, seeing it as an opportunity to work from home in various spaces and with diverse people.

In its study, Husky also showed an increase in the demand from international companies for Brazilian candidates, especially those related to the technology sector. Software developers, for example, account for 84% of the job openings available during this period.

The company also emphasizes that the number of Brazilians working from Brazil for foreign companies is likely even greater, considering that not everyone uses the services it offers. In 2020, Husky also created a survey to understand the profile of professionals working from home. According to the participants, one of the major benefits of this model is flexibility in working hours, cited by 59.7%.

Another interesting piece of information is that 76.8% of people also consider the shift to working from home positive, as it allows workers to use the time they would have spent commuting for other activities.

Remote work for foreign companies can bring benefits for both parties. On one side, the company demands qualified professionals and ends up offering the position to Brazilians. Given this opportunity, many people also find the chance for jobs with better salaries, as part of the payments are made in euro or dollar.

However, it’s important to be attentive, as many of these job openings are for PJ work format and do not offer the benefits provided by Labor Laws, such as paid vacation, 13th salary, or even unemployment insurance in case of dismissal. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate all benefits before making such a decision.

In some cases, the risk of not having certainty about the monthly amounts received or even the safety of labor rights may make the opportunity not worth it. Additionally, professionals in the financial sector always recommend having an emergency fund for crises, such as months of low demand for work.

Learn How To Work From Home

One of the first steps to work remotely outside the country is to have a good command of the company’s language, especially the vocabulary related to the field of work.

This is because a person may be fluent in English but may not have knowledge of the words used in the language to refer to activities in the sector. Moreover, being proficient in the language of the company they plan to apply to is essential to understand their responsibilities and communicate naturally with other colleagues, such as supervisors and bosses.

However, if this is not a problem, one can look for job openings on various international sites, such as Jobspresso, a platform that allows its users to find opportunities more quickly and easily, simply by selecting the field of work and searching through the system.
