Mercedes-Benz, the German car brand, announced today that Brazil sold around 27 trucks in the country last year and became the largest country in terms of volume of branded trucks on the world market. The company informed that it will still invest R$ 800 million until next year and that it will generate more than a thousand jobs, to supply the growth in orders. The company's expectation for 2021 is a 15% increase in the truck market, for a total of 101 units, and 13% of bus volumes, reaching 16 units in the sum of all brands.

According to the company, Brazil has become the world's largest market for Mercedes-Benz trucks in 2020, accounting for 20% of the group's sales. Total market sales last year were 84.650 vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz informed that from 2021, the company will continue the modernization of the final assembly line (gearbox, engine and axle) in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), in ABC Paulista along with the development of services and products with low emission connectivity and mobility technologies.
