Em uma entrevista, o Tyler Li, CEO da BYD no Brasil, ao ser questionado sobre estes designs tão exclusivos que a BYD têm atualmente, uma mudança radical do que era a alguns anos atrás, onde se copiavam muitos modelos de outras montadoras, ele informou que em 2017 foi contratado o designer-chefe Wolfgang Egger, que já trabalhou na Alfa Romeo, Audi e Lamborghini.
Agora na BYD, recebeu liberdade para criar novas identidades e desenhos, sem se prender a padrões de desenho obrigatórios como os da Audi, por exemplo.
