Caoa Group Will Invest R$ 3 Billion in Modernization of the Anápolis Factory, Expanding Assembly Lines and Introducing New Models.
After concluding legal disputes with Hyundai, the Caoa Group is making significant changes to its factory located in Anápolis, Goiás. The main goal of these changes is to expand the operations of the Caoa Chery brand and begin production of new Hyundai models. The expansion includes the installation of new machines and advanced technologies, with the acquisition of 200 robots that were previously owned by Ford. These robots were acquired from the factory in Camaçari, Bahia, which is now controlled by the Chinese company BYD.
History and Current Situation of the Caoa Group Factory
Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade Filho, president of the Caoa Group, expressed optimism regarding the future of the partnership with Hyundai.
“If it works well for us and for them, the partnership is likely to continue,” Andrade Filho stated. The company is focused on modernizing the Goiás factory, which will benefit from an investment of R$ 3 billion by 2028.

The construction of the Anápolis factory began in 2004. In 2013, the unit marked an important milestone by surpassing the volume of imported assembled vehicles in Brazil, with all national models being from the Hyundai brand at that time.
Currently, the Anápolis factory employs about 6,000 people and is entirely Brazilian. This contrasts with the unit in Jacareí, São Paulo, where 50% of the ownership belongs to Chery, a Chinese company.
The Jacareí factory is currently closed, and there are plans for its sale. There is also the possibility that the unit will produce models from the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, which are part of Chery’s portfolio.
New Models and Technologies
With the expansion of the factory, the Caoa Group is launching the Tiggo 8 Pro, the first product of this new phase.
This model features a renewed design and significant mechanical improvements.
The suggested price for the 2025 line is R$ 188,888.88, a competitive value in the seven-seat SUV segment.
The Tiggo 8 Pro is designed to compete with other SUVs in the market, such as the Jeep Commander, which has an starting price of R$ 244,990 in the same seating configuration.
The model from Caoa Chery comes equipped with a 1.6 turbo gasoline engine, delivering 187 hp of power.
This engine features a new lubrication system, with the oil filter repositioned for easier changes, as well as a stiffer block and lower noise levels.
Improvements in Design and Comfort
The improvements in the Tiggo 8 Pro include an increase in wheel size from 18 to 19 inches.
This change required an update in the suspension geometry to maintain comfort while driving.
Additionally, the vehicle features a 24-inch curved display that integrates the instrument panel and the multimedia center.
The steering wheel has also been redesigned, and the sound system, provided by Sony, includes eight speakers.
The Tiggo 8 Pro comes with an extensive list of standard items, such as six airbags, lane sensors, automatic emergency braking, electric adjustments for the front seats, and ambient lighting with LEDs.
Next Steps and Expectations of the Caoa Group
The Caoa Group is heavily investing in the modernization of its Anápolis factory, demonstrating a significant commitment to innovation and expanding its operations.
