The Best-Selling Electric Car in China Has Gained a New Edition Featuring Top-Generation Colors and Technologies, and the Best Part Is That the Electric Vehicle Costs Only R$ 35,400 (Direct Conversion) in Its Most Expensive Version

The Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, the best-selling electric car in China, has just gained a special edition named Macaron. The electric vehicle version features new finish details and exclusive color options. The vehicle is available in the Chinese market in two versions, priced between 37,600 and 49,600 yuan, which in direct conversion would be around R$ 30,500 and R$ 35,400 respectively.

On the outside, the electric car catches attention with its small size, which is slightly larger than the Smart ForTwo. The model measures 2.92 m in length, 1.62 m in height, 1.49 m in width, and despite its small size, the electric vehicle from China can carry up to four people.

The Macaron version’s design is basically the same as the other configurations. The front headlights have a rectangular shape and feature LED daytime running lights and new halogen bulbs, which improve visibility at night. The front grille, which has a closed design, has a black piano finish. On the side, the wheels have a diamond finish, and in addition, the model features a two-tone paint job.

At the rear, the LED taillights are also a novelty. They are interconnected by a horizontal bar, which has a black piano finish as well. The piece has been dubbed Wuling. The electric vehicle from China debuts with two exclusive colors: Coco Cru white and Merlot blue.

Chinese Electric Vehicle Features Top-Generation Technology

Inside, the finish of the electric car from China is basically the same as in the other versions. The difference in the new model lies solely in the internal tones that sync with the new exterior colors.

The instrument panel is digital, and the radio and ventilation controls are arranged horizontally. The air vents occupy almost the entire front panel. A highlight of the electric vehicle is the small central console, which is responsible for the electric window controls and a rotary gear selector. Among the equipment, the electric car also has rear seats with Isofix, ABS brakes, dual airbags, and a radio with Bluetooth.

New Model of Chinese Electric Vehicle Has 170 km of Range

The new electric vehicle has a rear motor with only 27 horsepower and 84 Nm of torque, and it also comes with two options of lithium iron phosphate batteries. The cheaper option offers a 9.3 kWh battery, which provides the vehicle with a range of 120 km.

The total charging time for the model is 6 hours and 30 minutes on alternating current. The top-of-the-line option is equipped with a 13.8 kWh battery. In this case, the range of the electric car from China rises to 170 km, and a full charge takes 9 hours.

Developed in a partnership between manufacturers SAIC, General Motors, and Wuling, the Mini EV is the best-selling electric car in the Asian country, with a total of 222,000 units sold just this year, more than double the second place, the Tesla Model 3.
