Knowing that Bahia is positioned in a location with strong winds, Casa dos Ventos will invest approximately R$ 8,646 billion in wind energy in the state. There will be several wind farms and many job openings.

In the midst of the water crisis, the news that a huge wind farm is starting part of its commercial operations strikes as a melody to the ears. The Rio do Vento Wind Complex, belonging to Casa dos Ventos, began its commercial operation of some turbines. Another piece of good news is that the project developer will start another wind farm in Bahia in the second half of this year, which promises to generate thousands of jobs.

Bahia stands out with its wind farm with a capacity of 1 GW

The wind energy park at Casa dos Ventos has an installed capacity of 1 GW divided into two phases. For this to become possible, investments of more than R$ 5 billion were necessary, which were divided between supply banks and the company's own resources.

The first phase of the wind farm has 504 MW of installed capacity divided into 120 turbines. Of this total, 15 turbines are already operating and another 15 should operate in the coming weeks.

In total, there are four assembly fronts working full time for the project to be implemented as quickly as possible, putting four or five turbines into operation per week. Casa dos Ventos recently energized the collection station and expects that all turbines will be in operation by the end of this year.

Investment of BRL 8,646 billion in Bahia

This Wednesday (14), it was announced by the government of Bahia that the company Casa dos Ventos intends to invest approximately R$ 8,646 billion in wind farms in four municipalities in the state and has already signed the investment protocols.

The signing of the protocol for the future investment was confirmed through the Secretariat for Economic Development, which is responsible for the formalities in partnership with the project developer.

According to Exame Invest Magazine, the company has plans to negotiate around 16 billion in two years, and a large part of these investments will be focused on Bahia. In addition, in the second half of this year, the company will start building another wind farm named Babilônia, in Bahia. The project will have a capacity of 360 MW and is expected to start operating in the same period as the second phase of Rio do Vento.

More than 10 jobs will be created in Bahia

Nelson Leal, Secretary of Economic Development, pointed out that the state government, with this initiative, seeks to decentralize investments in the capital and expand to other municipalities in Bahia, all through investment in cities in the interior.

Thus, municipalities will have more internal investments, generating more jobs and income for the population. In total, more than 10 new jobs will be generated in the wind turbine installation process alone. During the operation period, 52 jobs may be generated in the wind farms.
