The Construction of an Airport with a 1,850-Meter Runway Advances at a Rapid Pace. Funded by Auctions of the Old Terminal, the Project Already Attracts Support from the State Government and Promises to Revolutionize the Local Economy. The Work Is Expected to Generate Jobs, Attract Investments, and Put the City on the Map of National Development.

Francisco Beltrão, in Paraná, is about to experience an unprecedented economic and social transformation.

The new airport in the city promises not only to modernize regional air transport but also to boost job creation, attract investments, and highlight the municipality on the national stage.

A Grand and Strategic Project

Located on Linha Gaúcha, just 10 km from the center of Francisco Beltrão, the new airport will have a runway that is 1,850 meters long and 45 meters wide, capable of accommodating large aircraft.

This infrastructure places the city on the route for major business deals and expands the possibilities for regional air transport.

According to Mayor Cleber Fontana, the choice of location was meticulous.

“The land is 100 meters above the current airport, has favorable winds, and no construction or towers nearby. Technically, it is ideal”, said the manager.

Additionally, its proximity to the highway leading to Ampére facilitates access to the site, ensuring logistical efficiency. The project also envisions the possibility of future expansion, with the construction of even larger runways.

Airport Has Innovative Financing

The construction of the airport is financed with resources obtained through the auction of land at the current airport.

In the first stage of the auction, 49 lots were sold, raising over R$ 20 million. This amount was crucial for the start of the works, such as earthworks, which are already underway at an accelerated pace.

According to Planning Secretary Alexandre Pécoits, the second phase of the auction will take place in early 2025, securing new resources for the project’s next phases.

“We plan each stage carefully, following technical analyses and prioritizing transparency in the use of resources”, he explained.

Works Progressing at a Rapid Pace

On November 19, political leaders, journalists, and representatives from various sectors visited the construction site.

Machines and trucks are daily removing between 6,000 and 8,000 cubic meters of earth, preparing the land to receive the infrastructure.

During the visit, a space was set up to welcome authorities, near the largest lateral embankment, where the airport’s facilities will be installed.

The mayor took the opportunity to emphasize that the project is nonpartisan. “This is a work for the people of Francisco Beltrão, and we want to keep the focus on its development”, he declared.

Visitors walked the entire length of the future runway and observed up close the cuts in the slopes, whose soil is being reused for the main runway and lateral embankments.

The earthmoving work is seen as one of the most challenging phases but essential to ensure the quality of the structure.

State Support

The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Júnior, has already shown support for the project and is expected to announce new investments for the work soon.

“The governor is aligned with our objectives and understands the importance of this airport for the region”, said Mayor Cleber Fontana.

Although details about the state contributions have not yet been revealed, the government’s involvement reinforces the strategic nature of the project and raises expectations about its impact on the regional economy.

Economic and Social Transformation

More than just an airport, this work represents a milestone for the development of Francisco Beltrão.

It is estimated that hundreds of jobs will be created during construction, as well as new opportunities arising with the start of terminal operations.

The auction of the current airport also has the potential to generate a new urban nucleus, which should attract even more investments and energize the local economy.

“This project is a dream becoming a reality, thanks to collective effort and the strategic vision of the municipality”, emphasized Secretary Pécoits.

Challenges and Expectations

One of the challenges mentioned by the mayor was the political history surrounding the project.

Initially, there was a proposal to build a regional airport in Renascença, but the idea did not prosper due to political issues.

“We decided to take over the project within the municipality and ensure that it is executed with a focus on local development”, explained Cleber Fontana.

Another yet undecided point is the name of the new airport, which will only be chosen after the completion of the work. “Our goal now is to focus on executing the project, step by step”, concluded the mayor.

A Promising Future for the Region

Francisco Beltrão is preparing to take off toward a promising future. With modern infrastructure, state support, and a strategic vision, the new airport is set to transform the city into a hub of economic and social development.

Now, the question remains: do you believe this project will be able to attract large companies and place Francisco Beltrão on the path of national development?

Cara eu devo estar sonhando.
Eu estou vendo os prédios do aeroporto na direção da pista.
As construções tem que ser lateral à pista e nunca na direção dela!
Acho que eu vi coisa.
