Citroën Coupe SUV Impresses with Fuel Consumption on the Road, Surpassing Inmetro Data, but Has Limited Performance in Accelerations and Hills
The Citroën Basalt Feel 1.0 2025 is the entry-level version of the French automaker’s new coupe SUV and has hit the market as a more affordable option for those seeking bold design and everyday efficiency. Equipped with a 1.0 Firefly aspirated three-cylinder engine, the same used in the Fiat Mobi and Argo, the model delivers a maximum power of 75 hp with ethanol and 71 hp with gasoline, accompanied by torque of up to 10.5 kgfm and a five-speed manual transmission.
In tests conducted by the portal Mobiauto, the SUV showed distinct consumption results in the city and on the road, surpassing in some points the official numbers disclosed by the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV) from Inmetro.
Urban and Highway Consumption: Citroën Basalt Performs Well on the Road
According to data from Inmetro, the Citroën Basalt Feel 1.0 2025 consumes 13.2 km/l of gasoline in the city and 14.3 km/l on the highway. With ethanol, the consumption is 9.2 km/l in the city and 10.1 km/l on the highway. However, in measurements taken under real conditions by the Mobiauto team, the numbers varied:
- City: 10.3 km/l with gasoline, after driving 272 km in varied traffic;
- Highway: 16.6 km/l with gasoline, over a distance of 101.2 km at 100 km/h.
These figures indicate that, although urban performance fell below the estimates by Inmetro, highway consumption surprised positively, showing good energy efficiency in travels.
Interior Space, Design, and Dimensions
The Citroën Basalt Feel 1.0 has generous measurements for its category: it is 4.34 meters long, 1.82 meters wide, 1.58 m high, and has a wheelbase of 2.64 m. Its trunk accommodates up to 490 liters, which is a differential for families or those who need good luggage space. The fuel tank has a capacity of 47 liters.
With a modern look and lines reminiscent of coupe models, the design seeks visual appeal as a differentiator against direct competitors like the Fiat Fastback Turbo 200 Flex AT (R$ 119,990) and the Volkswagen Nivus Comfortline (R$ 143,490).
Performance and Driving Impressions
In the assessment made by Mobiauto, the performance of the Citroën Basalt Feel 1.0 2025 is considered satisfactory for urban and moderate highway use. The 1.0 aspirated engine allows reaching 120 km/h with the engine speed around 3,000 rpm, but requires planning for accelerations and overtakes, especially with the car loaded or on climbs.
According to specialists, the suspension tuning ensures good comfort and stability, reinforcing the SUV’s proposal as a vehicle for daily use and light travels.
Competitive Price and Market Proposal
With an initial price of R$ 100,490, the Citroën Basalt Feel 1.0 2025 positions itself as one of the most affordable coupe SUVs in Brazil. Despite its modest engine, it delivers efficient consumption on the highway, good interior space, and a modern look, attracting consumers who prioritize efficiency and design.
The information was collected from tests by Mobiauto and the Inmetro catalog. The technical sheet of the model can also be consulted on the official Citroën website and at dealerships across the country.
