Juliana, one of the residents who started using the new currency in SP, emphasized: “I found the initiative super cool. This way, we encourage people to consume here in the neighborhood.”
The idea is simple but powerful: instead of leaving the area to spend their reais, residents exchange them for Cacimba and boost the trade in São Miguel Paulista. This benefits both local entrepreneurs and consumers.

The Cacimba Institute provides mentoring and support to small businesses, such as Su’s restaurant, which develops vegan cookies. “Since we started mentoring, our business has grown significantly. We lacked guidance on the right steps to take, and now we are much more organized,” explained Su, one of the 35 entrepreneurs benefiting from the initiative.

With the Cacimba starting to circulate, the expectation is that this new currency in SP will become an example of a solidarity and sustainable economy. The idea is that more merchants and residents join the movement, strengthening local commerce and creating a network of mutual support.
