The City Hall of Ouro Branco Is Now Seeking New Partnership Opportunities to Expand the Mining Sector in the Mining Region and Met with the CSN Mining Company to Discuss the Feasibility of Environmental Projects and Professional Training in the Sector.

The mining company CSN met with the city hall of Ouro Branco, located in the state of Minas Gerais, last Thursday, (06/23), to discuss possible projects in the mining sector. Thus, the city hall is now seeking more professional training, partnerships in the environmental segment, and, mainly, new techniques to ensure even more efficiency in the mineral exploration process in the region.

City Hall of Ouro Branco Hosts Company Representatives to Discuss Possible Partnerships in Environmental Areas and Professional Training in Mining

The state of Minas Gerais is a national leader in mineral exploration and continues to expand its presence in the country in the mining sector, with international companies in the area, such as CSN Mining. The company has been seeking to ensure even more relevance in the state and recently met with the city hall of Ouro Branco, a municipality located in the mining region, to discuss possible future collaborations in the mineral sector as a way of mutual benefit in partnerships.

Thus, last Thursday, there was a meeting between the Mayor of Ouro Branco, Hélio Campos (PSDB), and the Secretary of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Neylor Aarão, who held a meeting with CSN representatives Eduardo Sanches, the General Manager of Sustainability of the company, and Otto Levy Reis, former Secretary of Planning for the state of Minas Gerais, who currently serves as the Director of Planning and Expansion at CSN Group.

The meeting took place in Mayor Helio Campos’s office and served as a gateway for future partnerships. Thus, the representatives of CSN and the city hall of Ouro Branco presented their projections for future growth in the mining sector and together discussed the possibility of partnerships in the region.

The main focus of the city hall of the mining municipality is to use CSN’s knowledge and experience to promote projects aimed at the environment, professional training, and, mainly, new alternatives and techniques that can contribute to mining in the region. For this, the company could become a future partner with businesses based in the city of Ouro Branco.

Future Meetings on Mining Projects with CSN Will Be Held During Economic Development Week in Ouro Branco

In addition to the city hall of Ouro Branco sharing its economic growth perspectives through mining projects in the region, CSN representatives stated that the company is now looking to expand its presence in business in the mining state and is interested in the municipality. Thus, the conjunction of both parties in a possible cooperation policy future would bring long-term benefits for the socioeconomic growth of the state and new business directions for the mining company.

Moreover, to continue discussions about environmental and professional training projects in mining, new meetings will be held with CSN. These will take place during Economic Development Week, which occurs in Ouro Branco from July 26 to 29.

Thus, the event will also seek to boost business in the municipality of Ouro Branco and rejuvenate the economy affected by the pandemic through professional qualification and attracting new investments to the city.

CSN is a national leader in steelmaking and one of the largest companies in the mining sector, operating throughout Brazil and now intends to turn new projects in Ouro Branco into a future bet for the state of Minas Gerais.
