Startup develops method to produce electric car batteries in an innovative way. The company's system uses artificial intelligence (AI) to manufacture products.

The manufacture of electric car batteries it is not something simple and, despite following all manufacturing protocols, the product can show problems such as slowness and overheating when charging, not to mention environmental abuses, despite this being the current sustainable bet. In an attempt to circumvent these and other difficulties, the Chemix, a startup that operates in the research and development sector, is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate new versions of batteries.

AI system takes six months to design new battery for electric cars

Chemix is running tests on different battery chemistries. The company's software platform, called Mix, uses data to develop new versions for testing, driving the iteration cycle.

The system takes about six months to develop a new battery that surpasses the performance of existing electric car batteries on the market. So far, the results have shown an average improvement of 300% from new batteries developed with Artificial Intelligence to current ones. Chemix components for electric cars also reduce metals such as cobalt and nickel.

According to Chemix co-founder and CEO Kaixiang Lin, the AI is suggesting new molecules for the company to test on a daily basis. The company calls this Research and Development (R&D) as there is very little human intervention in the process.

According to FastCompany, Chemix works directly with electric car manufacturers seeking better means of production. One of its first components to hit the market will be a battery for a New Zealand-based company called UBCO, which makes electric motorcycles. off-road. Lin explains that the company wanted to build a bike that didn't use a controversial metal like cobalt.

Use of AI to redesign batteries will increase worldwide

According to the company's plans, the intention is to launch another battery for electric cars in 2023, but this time designed for use in any sports model or motorcycle. Improvement is continuous. In this way, even after the launch of the first product, the second generation of performance has already begun.

Lin points out that, although his company is drawing attention for its innovation, the use of Artificial Intelligence to redesign electric car batteries is likely to expand, which could change the course of manufacturing these components in a similar way to what the IA did and still does in medicine. The marriage of AI, statistics and a data-driven approach has truly transformed the industry.

Artificial intelligence will replace professionals from IBM

The CEO of IBM, Arvind Krishna, a company that operates in the area of information technology, said that the company should finalize the hiring of new professionals in jobs that can be done by AI. The multinational executive has plans to replace current employees in areas that are not customer-oriented.

The statement was made in an interview given to the Bloomberg website. Arvind Krishna believes that 30% of the workforce could be “swapped” by robots and automation in the next 5 years.

IBM's estimate would be to replace 7,8 people jobs with AI that can replace certain automated tasks, including in the HR sector. The executive did not go into detail if he plans to make rounds of layoffs, however, he said that some positions will not be replaced when they become vacant.

Currently, the company has around 260 professionals worldwide, 10% of which are allocated to positions outside customer service. If the promise is made, the total unemployed could increase to 26 thousand.
