Itamaraty Diplomat Contest Closes Registrations Today at Cebraspe; There Are 60 Vacancies for Third Secretary with Objective Test in March.

The diplomat contest of Itamaraty is entering the final hours of registration this Wednesday (25th) at 6 PM, with exclusive registration through the Cebraspe website.

The selection offers 60 vacancies for third secretary, the entry-level position in the diplomatic career, with a salary of R$ 22,558.56.

The first stage will be the objective test, scheduled for March 29, 2026, in all state capitals and the Federal District.

In addition to the attractive salary, the contest draws attention to the new inclusion rules and the two-phase structure.

The goal is to select professionals prepared to represent Brazil abroad, with multidisciplinary training and language proficiency.

Itamaraty Diplomat Contest: Registrations End Today

The deadline is final, and there will be no extension.

Therefore, those who wish to participate in the diplomat contest must complete the process within the time set by Cebraspe.

Registration is entirely online, making it easier for candidates from all over the country to access.

However, it is recommended to avoid leaving it until the last minutes, as system instabilities may hinder confirmation.

Objective Test Will Be the First Stage of the Diplomat Contest

The selection starts with an objective test in the “true or false” format, the traditional format of Cebraspe.

In total, there will be 240 items distributed among essential disciplines for the diplomatic career.

Among the content covered are Portuguese Language, Brazilian History, World History, Geography, English, International Politics, Economics, and Law.

This set evaluates both the academic mastery and the analytical ability of the candidate.

Moreover, the test will be applied simultaneously in all capitals, ensuring standardization of the selection process.

The result of this phase will determine who proceeds to the written stage.

Second Phase Will Have Written Tests and Additional Language

Those approved in the first stage will face written evaluations in the same knowledge areas.

In this phase, essays, summaries, and text versions will be required.

There will also be an additional language test, which may be in Spanish or French.

This requirement reinforces the international profile of the third secretary position, which demands effective communication in different diplomatic contexts.

Distribution of Vacancies and New Quota Law

The current diplomat contest is the first held under the rules of the new quota law sanctioned by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Therefore, for the first time, there is a reservation of vacancies for indigenous and quilombola people.

Of the total opportunities, 39 are for open competition.

Three are reserved for people with disabilities, 15 for black candidates, two for indigenous people, and one for quilombolas.

Therefore, to compete for the reserved vacancies, the candidate must self-declare at the time of registration.

In the case of indigenous and quilombola individuals, there will be documentary verification carried out by a commission composed mainly of members of these groups.

Gender Proportionality Expands Female Presence

Another measure maintained in the last editions is the gender proportionality criterion.

The mechanism seeks to reduce historical inequalities in Brazilian diplomacy.

In practice, up to 126 female candidates may be additionally called for the second phase, regardless of the vacancies provided by law.

This way, the selection process increases the chances of female participation in the decisive stages.

Diplomatic Career Remains Among the Most Competitive

The position of third secretary is considered the gateway to the Brazilian foreign service.

Thus, in addition to the high salary, the career offers opportunities in embassies, consulates, and international organizations.

For this reason, the diplomat contest is among the most contested in the country.

Thus, the combination of a high level of academic demand and a limited number of vacancies requires long-term preparation.

What to Expect from the Next Stages

After the objective test, the approved candidates will face a more analytical and textual selection process.

This structure aims to evaluate not only knowledge but also the ability to argue and synthesize.

Meanwhile, the calendar continues with nationwide application and standardized criteria by Cebraspe.

This way, the expectation is that thousands of registrants will compete for this year’s vacancies.

Final Deadline Requires Attention from Candidates

With the closing of registrations this Wednesday, the recommendation is to check all data before finalizing the registration.

Any mistake may jeopardize participation in the diplomat contest.

Thus, those who wish to join the Itamaraty must act quickly and ensure registration within the deadline.

Thus, the next stage is already scheduled, and preparation for the objective test should begin immediately after confirmation.
