Calculation of How Much Will Be Needed to Invest in the Car Recovery Is Quick, Done on the Spot During Negotiation, Evaluating More Than 100 Checklist Items

Last year, according to the National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Dealers (Fenauto), the total number of used cars sold in the country exceeded 15 million, 17.8% higher than reported in 2020. Given the increasing demand for cars with more affordable prices, experience alone is not enough for professionals at car dealerships to avoid bad deals, especially when the vehicles are used and have obvious damages. Technology can help detect weak points, parts that need repairs, and those that need complete replacement.

An example comes from Autoconf, a Paraná-based autotech that works with 360° assessments and can generate more than 50% profit between forecasted and performed services for retailers that use the system effectively. How so? The company’s website presents an example of a common reality in the daily lives of dealerships and the possibility of this percentage. “A vehicle was evaluated, and it was thought that it would cost R$ 1,000. In the end, it ended up costing R$ 2, 3, or even 4,000. With the 360° assessment, you can achieve over 50% profit between forecasted and performed services,” explains the brief overview.

Step by Step Process

The assessment is active within the Autoconf system. “This means that the evaluator will follow the step-by-step that the system requires. Then, the system will ask for photos of the front of the vehicle. The vehicle’s own system will provide a list of all the items at the front of the vehicle that need to be evaluated, ensuring that no [item] goes unnoticed, preventing losses for the store. Everything that needs to be done is already agreed upon with the vehicle owner, who will have this discount in the vehicle’s value or, in a consignment case, is aware that they will have to make this repair on the vehicle,” explains Rachelle Mariot, Commercial Manager at the autotech. The 360° assessment process works well, leaving no room for any detail to be overlooked, ensuring accurate pricing and quick negotiation. “A retailer who does not use Autoconf may expect to spend much more, which results in a much more interesting performance on our services. It is estimated that they could avoid losing up to 50% per month or more, between forecasted and performed services, as shown in our website presentation,” comments Ramon Lemes, Marketing Manager, reinforcing the 360° assessment format.

When the vehicle enters the store’s inventory, the costs are only for movement, with no impact on the resale. It is worth noting that the values suggested by Autoconf are quite similar to market prices; therefore, it is as if the customer were seeking estimates among professionals in bodywork, mechanics, and painting, for example, to repair the car’s damages.

The system also provides a Service Performance Report, which gives data to compare the forecasted value of the assessment and the actual expenditure for preparing the car. Thus, it is possible to know exactly whether there was expenditure or profit in the assessment. The Report also allows measuring this dynamic over periods: just choose the months and the year and conduct a complete survey of the store’s performance.

Buying a car these days is not always an easy task or a satisfying experience. Thus, the available technology from Autoconf also guarantees benefits to the next car owner, who will have the assurance that the repairs have been made and the information on the actual conditions of the vehicle, accessing an inventory with guarantee and transparency.
