The Construction Of The Mega Bridge That Promises To Be The Largest Urban Bridge In Santa Catarina, Revolutionizing Mobility In Joinville.
Get ready to witness a project so monumental that it will make other bridges seem like mere footbridges! The construction of the mega bridge in Joinville is not just another crossing over the river; it is an engineering feat that promises to transform mobility in the largest city of Santa Catarina.
Considered the largest city in the state, Joinville currently has just over 600,000 inhabitants within its 1,126 km² of territorial extension. Like in any major metropolis, urban mobility issues are evident. The high number of vehicles on the streets and avenues makes traffic challenging, and innovative solutions are needed to improve the quality of life for residents.
Construction Of The Largest Urban Bridge In Santa Catarina
To tackle this challenge, the construction of the largest urban bridge in Santa Catarina has been proposed, with nearly 1 km in length. The mega bridge Joinville will connect the Adhemar Garcia neighborhood, via Alvino Hansen Street, to the Boa Vista neighborhood, through São Leopoldo and São Borja streets, crossing the Cachoeira River.

Florianópolis will receive a million-dollar BRT that will begin construction in 2026 with nearly 400 million in funding from the federal government and the Inter-American Development Bank, and the map already shows the routes for the exclusive bus corridors.
-
Without a blueprint, without an engineer, and using scrap from the dump, a father spends 15 years building an 18-room castle for his daughter, featuring tram tracks, 13 fireplaces, and over 700 m², which may now be demolished.

A megaproject worth R$ 89 billion is advancing in Iraq and promises to change the game in global trade by creating a new corridor between Asia and Europe, reducing traditional routes and repositioning the country as a logistics powerhouse.

Goodbye bedside table: floating shelves become a trend in 2026 by freeing up space in the bedroom, improving circulation, bringing visual lightness, and integrating technology without taking up floor space.
With 980 meters in length and 26 meters in width, the bridge will feature sidewalks on both sides, a bike lane, and two double lanes, facilitating the movement of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. The project promises not only to improve traffic flow but also to connect communities and promote urban development.
Alia Construções S.A
The resources for the construction of the mega bridge came through financing, allowing for an international competition that culminated in the selection of the company Alia Construções S.A. The investment amount is just over R$ 296 million, with an estimated completion time of 24 months.
The bridge will be built using two construction methods. In the access areas, precast pieces will be employed, while the navigable central span over the Cachoeira River will be constructed using successive cantilever methods. This central section will have a clear span of 80 meters in width and about 9 meters in height, ensuring the navigability of the river.
2,000 Tons Of Steel
The numbers of the project are impressive: 2,000 tons of steel will be used, equivalent to approximately 270,000 bars of iron with a diameter of 10 mm. Additionally, 76,000 tons of concrete will be employed, corresponding to more than 31,000 cubic meters or about 4,000 concrete mixer trucks. The foundations will require 3.3 km of excavations and more than 210 tons of metal piles.
Supervision will be the responsibility of the Nova Engevix Azimute consortium, responsible for ensuring that all technical and safety standards are strictly followed.
Project Includes The Requalification Of Access Roads
In addition to the bridge itself, the project includes the requalification of access roads, such as Alvino Hansen Street, São Borja Street, and São Leopoldo Street. This improvement in road infrastructure complements the initiative, expanding the benefits for the population.
The Expectation Is That The Construction Of The Mega Bridge Will Not Only Alleviate Congestion
With the largest urban bridge in Santa Catarina, Joinville takes a significant step towards a future with better urban mobility. The expectation is that the construction of the mega bridge will not only alleviate congestion, but also spur economic and social development in the region, becoming a new landmark of the city.
And you, are you excited to see this grand project come to life? The mega bridge in Joinville will certainly be a milestone in the history of engineering in Santa Catarina and a source of pride for all residents of Joinville.
