Development of the Region with the Works in Pará
According to Governor Helder Barbalho, the construction of the new highway will not only promote production but will also bring safety and a series of benefits to all people in the region, who, according to Helder, have been forgotten for many years.
He emphasized that through the works and road paving projects, the highway could even achieve vertical production, which will add value to agribusiness in the Pará region, strengthen the structure of the port of Santarém, and its importance to the area. Helder also stated that the two remaining lots will proceed, and that the construction and delivery of the paved roads will happen within 24 months.
According to Adler Silveira, Secretary of State for Transport, the construction and paving of PA-370 is a structural project that can meet the historical needs of Baixo Amazonas. He stated that it is a project that will change the lives of the people living in the region because it connects Transamazon with Santarém, covering about 150 kilometers of pavement and a total investment of 193 million reais.

In addition to shortening the distance, the paving of Transuruará will directly affect the growth of the regional productive sector. Henderson Pinto, Regional Secretary of the Government of Baixo Amazonas, stated that besides integrating the regions of Xingu, Baixo Amazonas, and Tapajós, this work should also reduce the distance from Santarém to the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB) by 160 kilometers. He mentioned that the works in Pará will be very promising and, so far, have only been implemented by Governor Helder Barbalho.
About ten community leaders from across Transuruará participated in the signing of the service order. According to Paulo de Souza, President of the “Cícero Mendes Association,” the construction of pavement on the PA-370 highway represents a real change in the local reality. Paulo stated that the works in Pará will bring jobs and income. He further mentioned that this moment has historical significance for the entire local population.

Governor Helder Barbalho also signed a service order for the construction of the 13th Military Police Battalion in Uruará. Colonel Dilson Júnior, Commander of the Military Police, stated that such works are a great incentive from the state government, and with the construction of the new building, the Uruará team will have better conditions for barracking to ensure higher quality in police service in the region.
