The job market is favorable for those seeking employment, and according to the report from the Brazilian Association of Temporary Work (Asserttem), there will be a 25% increase in temporary job opportunities in the first months of this year compared to the same period in 2020.
According to data from Assertem, the number of hires in the temporary work modality increased by 34.8% compared to the previous year. Although the industry is the major responsible for hiring – 65% of job openings are from other sectors that have also stood out, such as health, logistics, and retail.

According to Luandre’s Selection Superintendant, Gabriela Mative, the increase is justified by the high demand for essential services directly related to the health, logistics, and retail sectors, and the need to expand the workforce to meet this demand promptly during the pandemic. Here at the consultancy, we recorded at the beginning of the year, in 2021, an increase in health jobs of 225%, logistics 132%, and retail 130% compared to the same period last year.

For Gabriela, even though it is temporary, it is an opportunity to re-enter the job market and secure a permanent job – “At Luandre, we have a hiring rate of 40%, so it is important that this candidate takes advantage of the opportunity and shows interest in continuing and eventually securing a permanent position.”
The superintendant highlights that changes in the temporary work law in 2017 contributed to the opening of more temporary job positions by companies: “The law now allows hiring for 180 days, with the possibility of extension,” she highlights.
Today, Luandre has over 1,555 temporary job openings available nationwide. The most in-demand sectors at the moment are health, logistics, and retail, largely due to e-commerce, which is estimated to grow by 26% in 2021.
