Baker Hughes signs a new contract with Petrobras to supply subsea equipment to Marlim and Voador in the Campos Basin

The oil industry services company Baker Hughes signed a new contract with Petrobras. The company will supply subsea equipment to Marlim and Voador, in the Campos Basin, as part of the revitalization plan for the area. General Electric Renewable is building the world's largest and most powerful wind turbine to be installed on the world's largest offshore wind farm in 2023

The largest wind turbine in the world is being developed by GE Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of giant General Electric. The powerful turbine was named after X-Haliade, and will be launched this year 2021. To deliver the project, the US conglomerate GE plans to invest 400 million dollars.

Series production of the Haliade-X platform will begin in the second half of 2021 at General Electric's Saint-Nazaire plant in France.

According to the company's CEO, John Flannery, General Electric wants to be a leader in the technologies that are driving the global energy transition. “Offshore wind is one such technology, and we will bring all of General Electric's resources to bear on making the Haliade-X program successful for our customers,” he comments.

Each turbine will be capable of producing renewable energy enough to power 16.000 homes, with a 750 MW wind farm creating enough power for one million homes.
