North Korea Recently Sent More Than 90 Balloons Filled With Trash to South Korea. The Balloons, Detected by the South Korean Military, Were Launched After Threats from Pyongyang in Response to the Sending of Anti-Regime Propaganda by South Korean Activists.

The South Korean military detected more than 90 balloons filled with trash and waste launched by North Korea. The action occurred after Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, threatened to respond to the sending of anti-regime propaganda by South Korean activists.

The trash balloons were detected in the border areas of Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces, as well as in the Guro district of Seoul, and in South Chungcheong province. According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea, those that fell contained various types of trash.

When the South Korean army spotted unidentified flying objects in the border areas. Reports indicate that the balloons had timers to burst at different moments, spreading trash in various locations.

This action is seen as retaliation against the activities of South Korean groups that send anti-regime propaganda materials to North Korea. The situation increases tensions between the two countries, which already have a history of conflicts and provocations.

The South Korean military is monitoring the situation and taking measures to collect and analyze the balloons and their contents. This is not the first time North Korea has used balloons to send messages or items to South Korea, but the use of trash is a novelty. The international community is closely monitoring the developments of this action, which reflects the ongoing instability and the complex relations between the Koreas.
