Company Prepares for the Transformation of the Transport and Logistics Industry Into a Sustainable Model, Invests in Research and Technologies That Help the Environment and Go Beyond the Use of Zero Emission Pollutant Trucks
São Paulo, December 2022 – DACHSER, a reference in land, air, and sea logistics services, with global operations, aims to transform its branches in Freiburg, Hamburg, and Malsch into e-mobility locations. To achieve this, it invests in research on technologies that help the environment, as well as new processes and intelligent solutions with the long-term goal of increasing the number of zero-pollution vehicles in the network and achieving the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions.
The central focus of this initiative is electric batteries for cars and trucks and their charging infrastructure, as well as the sustainable use and production of renewable electricity. In addition, DACHSER is also testing hydrogen-powered trucks and the necessary infrastructure for their refueling.
“We expect that in the coming years, road freight transport will gradually shift to trucks that do not emit pollutants. Through our research and innovations, we are already preparing for this transformation of the transport and logistics industry,” explains Alexander Tonn, COO of Road Logistics at DACHSER. “Until then, we still have many challenges to overcome, particularly regarding the range that these vehicles can cover, the availability of charging points on highways, and the supply of this new fuel in our locations,” he adds.
