Ministry of Infrastructure Plans to Contract R$ 137 Billion in Investments That Will Generate More Than 2 Million Jobs

Approximately 2 million jobs will be generated next year with the sale of 50 assets, which include 23 airports; 17 port terminals; two railways (FIOL and Ferrogrão), and an early renewal (MRS); in addition to eleven highway lots.

If the challenges presented in the 2020 scenario allowed for significant deliveries for the infrastructure sector, the Federal Government’s expectations for 2021 are even greater. There will also be the privatization of the Espírito Santo Dock Company (Codesa). A total of more than R$ 137.5 billion in investments and nearly R$ 3 billion in grants for the government.

“2021 will be a very rich year for the infrastructure sector, a year of many achievements. We will have more than 50 assets being transferred. We will have a series of auctions. The idea is to contract R$ 137 billion in investments that, when materialized, will generate more than two million jobs,” said the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas.
