Chinese Company Develops Affordable Electric Bike With Capacity to Reach Up to 45 Km/h. The E-Bike Has Front and Rear Suspension and Follows the Design Line of the 60s.
The Engwe, a Chinese electric bike company, has just announced its latest e-bike model. The new two-wheeled machine has been named M20 and boasts plenty of power, inspired by the “Cafe Racer” look, a very popular motorcycle racing category in the 60s that promises to stand out due to its lighter price for consumers.
Engwe Electric Bike Reaches 45 Km/h
Right away, the surprise is the inclusion of front and rear suspension, something very uncommon in slightly cheaper electric bikes. The wider tires, with a thickness of 10 cm, are also great for those looking for adrenaline and more comfortable rides on asphalt and dirt.
The thicker tire category also provides a larger contact area with the surface, making it possible to ride on snow and beach sand, for example. As for the model’s power, the M20 does not disappoint. The electric bike comes equipped with a 750W motor in the rear wheel, allowing it to reach up to 45 Km/h.

Little sister of the Hilux: Toyota launches Land Cruiser FJ with 4 radical versions, 2.7 engine with 166 hp and 4×4 traction with locking.
The unit can reach a peak power of up to 1,000 W, according to the manufacturing company. Its 7-speed transmission system is from Shimano, and the brakes are mechanical with 160mm rotors, a feature that is lacking compared to other competitors.
Another attractive feature is its 75 Km autonomy, enough to travel on daily routes in the city and for weekend rides. This is only possible due to a 13 Ah battery, an extra unit that can be mounted on the top tube, doubling the previously mentioned autonomy.
M20 Electric Bike Costs R$ 8,416
As the electric bike sector is becoming more saturated, the price of the e-bike may be a decisive purchasing factor. Currently, the M20 is being sold for US$ 1,600 in the United States, or R$ 8,416 at the current exchange rate.
In Brazilian currency, the price is somewhat steep, but in the US, the product is on average US$ 340 above the minimum wage average. Currently, Engwe, through the European warehouse, sells models X26, S6, T14, C20 Pro, Engine X, Engine Pro, EP-2 Pro, and also the P26.
The latest e-bike model features a more classic style, with a passenger seat, allowing for the transport of another passenger or some items, which can be very useful for a quick trip to the supermarket, where we usually bring one or two bags full.
Meet Engwe
The story of the electric bike brand arose after three young individuals faced difficulties pedaling to the top of a mountain. As night fell, the creators felt exhausted and cold, and during the last kilometers, they could no longer pedal, forcing them to push their bikes against the wind. Thus, one of them had the idea to develop an e-bike.
The inventors won a technological innovation and entrepreneurship contest by presenting the ingenious idea of developing an electric bike. Five years later, Engwe was born, which today sells bikes worldwide.
The company’s goal is to manufacture e-bikes with more advanced functionalities and an attractive aesthetic while staying true to its original concept. For a cleaner future, the company aims to improve the lives of 50 million people annually, generating more green spaces.
