Tenways Bets On Rotating Handlebar, Retractable Pedals, And 500Wh Battery To Capture Apartment Dwellers Who Need Practicality
Urban mobility is undergoing an accelerated transformation. As cities become denser and apartments smaller, the demand for compact and sustainable solutions is also growing. In this scenario, Tenways launched the CGO Compact in Europe, a foldable e-bike with 100 km of range designed specifically for those facing space limitations.
The website Olhar Digital published the information based on the manufacturer’s official data and supplemented the article with details from The Verge. The Tenways set the price at 1,990 euros, a little over R$ 12 thousand in direct conversion. The price is below the European average for electric bikes, which currently reaches 2,681 euros (around R$ 16.5 thousand).
Additionally, the company structured a network with 1,500 service points, strengthening its presence in the European market and increasing consumer confidence.

Compact Project Solves Space Problems In Cities
Tenways developed the CGO Compact with a total focus on practicality. The brand created a system that allows the handlebar to rotate 90 degrees and easily adjust its height. With this movement, the user reduces the width of the bike and facilitates storage.
Moreover, the retractable pedals further reduce its lateral volume. This way, cyclists can store the e-bike in narrow hallways, in a car trunk, or transport it on the train without difficulty.
The manufacturer also equipped the model with 20-inch wheels and a low frame, making it easier for people of different heights to use. Therefore, the CGO Compact combines ergonomics, stability, and urban adaptation.
250W Motor, 500Wh Battery, And Range Up To 100 Km
On the technical side, Tenways installed a 250W rear motor, a common standard in European urban e-bikes. The company replaced the traditional metal chain with a carbon belt, eliminating the need for grease and reducing frequent adjustments.
As a result, the user faces less maintenance and keeps the bike cleaner, an essential factor for those who store the equipment indoors.
The removable battery offers 500Wh of capacity and delivers up to 100 kilometers of range, depending on the terrain and assistance mode. Since the model has only one gear, it is better suited for flat cities, where the terrain does not require constant shifting.
To increase comfort, Tenways included hydraulic brakes and installed a shock absorber in the seat post, which improves impact absorption on uneven streets. However, the weight of 22.1 kg may require attention, especially when manually carrying the bike.
Load Capacity And Strategic Urban Proposal
Tenways added a rear rack with a capacity of 27 kg, allowing for the transport of backpacks, groceries, and accessories. Thus, the model expands its utility in urban daily life.
Although the brand already sells other models in the United States, it currently offers the CGO Compact only in Europe. Still, the launch reinforces a global trend: consumers are seeking compact, efficient, and easy-to-store electric bikes.
Furthermore, the competitive price of 1,990 euros, combined with a range of 100 km, a 250W motor, and a 500Wh battery, positions the CGO Compact as a viable alternative to cars for short trips.
Consequently, Tenways strengthens its strategy to democratize urban electric mobility with a focus on practicality and efficiency.
Do you believe that compact models like the CGO Compact can replace cars on short urban trips in Brazil?
