The Richest Man on the Planet, Elon Musk, Decided to Get His Hands Dirty, and This Time, It’s Not Rockets, It’s Politics, Big Money, and a Billion-Dollar Project That Promises to Shake the Foundations of the Global Economy!
Elon Musk is already involved in another global turnaround! After allying with Donald Trump’s government, the South African billionaire turned American decided to go further: he now wants to change the history of the United States with a mega plan worth over R$ 11.4 trillion. Yes, you read that right: eleven trillion reals — the equivalent of nearly 5 GDPs of Brazil!
The answer involves artificial intelligence, politics, cutting public spending, and a direct confrontation with giants like Google, Meta, and even OpenAI. And of course: a lot, but A LOT of money!
Elon Musk Joins Trump and Dives Headfirst into the U.S. Administration
As seen in the Elon Musk series, the billionaire is not satisfied with little. Not only does he control companies like Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and X (formerly Twitter), now he wants to restructure the entire American economy. And with the White House’s blessing!

50 viaducts, 4 tunnels, 28 bridges, and 40 kilometers of bike paths: BR-262 in Espírito Santo will receive 8.6 billion reais for the largest engineering project in the state’s history, inspired by the Immigrant Highway in São Paulo.

Brazil produces too much clean energy and doesn’t know what to do with it: over 20% of solar and wind capacity was wasted in 2025 while investors flee and 509 renewable generation projects were abandoned in the last year.

Piauí will produce a new fuel that replaces diesel without needing to change anything in the truck’s engine and reduces pollutant gas emissions by half: truck drivers from all over the Northeast are already celebrating the news that will arrive later this decade.

A new Brazilian shopping center worth R$ 400 million will be built in an area equivalent to more than 4 football fields, featuring 90 stores, 5 cinemas, a supermarket, a college, and parking for 1,700 cars, potentially generating 3,000 jobs.
He has already invested 100 million dollars in Donald Trump’s campaign and was rewarded with something even bigger: direct involvement in government decisions. The first step was to create a government efficiency commission, led by himself, which will have the task of reviewing and cutting federal government spending. The goal? Eliminate a fiscal deficit that already exceeds US$ 33 trillion.
A New AI Center That Promises to Rival ChatGPT
But Elon Musk doesn’t just care about public accounts. He is also building a massive artificial intelligence center in Atlanta, with over 12,000 Nvidia GPUs. The investment? US$ 700 million! The goal? To take on OpenAI and ChatGPT, after the company partnered with the Trump government.
“If they want government-side AI, then I want it too,” Musk said. And he’s not bluffing: he even offered US$ 97 billion for OpenAI, but was turned down. Now, he decided to do it his way: to create an independent, powerful AI capable of generating US$ 241 million in economic impact just in the initial phase.
DOJ Plan: Cutting Waste, Closing Agencies, and Saving Trillions
One of the boldest ideas from Elon Musk is the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency, the famous DOJ, inspired by his own cryptocurrency. This agency will have the autonomy to audit federal programs, close useless agencies, fire unproductive employees, and review the entire public machine.
“In the U.S. there are over 450 departments that just create rules that hinder companies,” Musk states. According to him, much of these agencies only serve to stifle innovation and waste taxpayer money. The goal? To cut up to US$ 2 trillion in spending, which converts to over R$ 11 trillion — an amount he believes he can reinvest in technology and infrastructure.
Elon Musk Wants to Clean Up the Government Like He Did at Tesla, X, and SpaceX
This idea did not come out of nowhere. Elon Musk has already shown that he knows how to cut costs like no one else. At Tesla, he streamlined the entire supply chain. At X, he fired 80% of the team and kept the platform running. At SpaceX, he created reusable rockets to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Now, he wants to apply the same model to the American federal government: “There’s so much waste there that it will be easier to cut than in my companies,” he declared.
But Not Everything Is Rosy: Criticism, Controversies, and Fear of Conflict of Interest
Of course, a project of this magnitude wouldn’t come without controversy. Many accuse Elon Musk of wanting to deregulate strategic sectors just to benefit his own companies — after all, Tesla and SpaceX operate under strict environmental and safety regulations.
But Musk denies it all. He assures that all decisions will be public, voted on, and, if necessary, reviewed. Still, the fear is great: what if this “freedom to innovate” turns into a free-for-all that harms the environment and puts consumers at risk?
What If It Works?
If it works as he promises, Elon Musk could revolutionize the American economy. Cutting US$ 2 trillion in spending, modernizing AI, ending outdated agencies, and reorganizing the public machine could place the U.S. in a new level of efficiency.
But what do you think about all this? Is Elon Musk the solution or the problem? Comment below and join this discussion.
