In 1996, Ferrari Gifted Michael Schumacher an Exclusive F355. Now, This Legendary Car Is Available for Purchase! Discover the Details of This Automotive Rarity.

Michael Schumacher is an iconic name in motorsport, synonymous with victories and achievements in Formula 1. A rare opportunity is emerging for collectors and fans: a Ferrari F355 GTS from 1996, supposedly the first street-legal Ferrari driven by Schumacher after his entry into Scuderia, is being auctioned by RM Sotheby’s without reserve.

His race cars rarely go to auction, and when they do, they reach millionaire values.

The Car and Its History with Michael Schumacher

The Ferrari F355 GTS in question carries a special history. It is said to have been personally configured by Schumacher, featuring a Blu Le Mans finish and a Crema interior, characteristics that combine elegance and exclusivity.

One of the most interesting details is the six-disc CD changer, a cutting-edge technology at the time, which sparks curiosity about what the seven-time world champion used to listen to while driving.

This Ferrari was delivered new in Germany in April 1996 and was first registered by Weber Management GmbH, the company of Schumacher’s manager, Willi Weber.

During the time it was in the driver’s possession, the Ferrari dealership Monaco Motors maintained it until September 1997. After that, the car passed through two private owners in France before being acquired by the current seller in 2004.

Condition and Special Features

The F355 GTS is in excellent condition, with no significant visual modifications. Its odometer shows about 47,300 kilometers, an annual average of just over 1,600 km, which is relatively low for a vehicle of its age.

In 2020, Ferrari Classiche certified the car, but an important detail was revealed: the engine is not the original.

According to rumors, the car may have received an upgraded engine even before being delivered to Schumacher. However, this information has not been confirmed.

Despite this, the car remains a rare gem for collectors, especially due to its documented connection to the German driver.

Buying Opportunity

The auction for this rare specimen takes place in Paris, France, but the car is registered in Belgium. At 25 years old, it can be legally imported to the United States, which increases global interest in the model.

Bidding started on February 4, 2025, on the RM Sotheby’s website, and since it is a no-reserve auction, the highest bid will secure ownership of the car.

Although the auction house has not released an official estimate, well-preserved F355 GTS models tend to sell for about US$ 250,000.

However, the impeccable condition and connection to Schumacher may significantly elevate this value, making it one of the most expensive models from the series ever sold at auction.

The sale of this Ferrari F355 GTS represents more than just a simple commercial transaction; it is the chance to acquire a piece of motorsport history.

For collectors and enthusiasts, owning a car driven by Michael Schumacher is a rare and highly valued privilege.

With a well-documented history and impeccable condition, this Ferrari is a collector’s item that will surely attract great attention in the market. For those looking to place a bid, the opportunity is open and promises a competitive auction.
