New World Will Invest Over R$ 50 Million and Bring E-Commerce Operation to DF. According to the Company, Job Openings Are for Immediate Start
Ibaneis Rocha, Governor of DF, signed an agreement on Thursday, October 17th, with the company New World Móveis e Utilidades Ltda. to bring a distribution center for products sold through the online store, known as e-commerce, to the state. The group already has a warehouse in DF to store goods from regional stores, but now it will also serve all customers across the country who choose to shop on digital platforms.

The measure will immediately create 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, and according to the Government of DF, the company is expected to open the positions immediately.
The negotiation with the large business group lasted about four months and ensured an average reduction of 3% in the Tax on Circulation of Goods and the Provision of Interstate and Intermunicipal Transport and Communication Services (ICMS) as a compensatory effect of the new business, depending on revenue.
“The change we expected in the local economy, from an administrative city to an economic center of large companies, with technology and online sales, has already begun. This means more jobs, more tax revenue, and more wealth for the city. From DF, goods will be distributed throughout Brazil,” explained the Secretary of Economy, André Clemente.
As far as Ibaneis is concerned, agreements like the one made with New World should become common in the country’s capital. “We are aware that only the public sector cannot recover the profitability of the city. We need the private sector, and we are sure that other companies will soon be present in DF, as they believe in our government and our willingness to deliver,” he stressed.
Investment of R$ 50 Million
The businessman from New World, Carlos Luciano Ribeiro, also highlighted the advances. “Brasília has a privileged logistics. We are very happy to bring our online sales here, a segment that is growing a lot worldwide. We are studying to acquire an area in Pólo JK and will invest over R$ 50 million initially,” he highlighted.
