The MTCN Is in Balneário Camboriú, but Operating in Brazil and Abroad; It Was One of the Selected for Adopting Sustainable Practices in Coastal and Port Infrastructure Projects.

The MTCN – Sustainable Solutions in Dredging, Ports, and Coasts, from Balneário Camboriú, is one of the 12 startups chosen to participate in the global Shell StartUp Engine acceleration program, supported by the fuel sector giant to promote businesses, develop capabilities, and drive innovative solutions. These are companies from four of the five Brazilian regions that focus on the themes of sustainable agriculture and forestry, decarbonization in upstream, energy solutions (platforms and marketplaces), nature-based solutions, and social technology.

MTCN was selected to join this elite group due to its adoption of sustainable practices in coastal and port infrastructure projects. “We were selected from dozens of registered companies, and now we are among the startups that Shell identified as making a social and environmental difference,” celebrates the founder and managing partner of MTCN, Mauricio Torronteguy.

He adds that participating in the program represents a real opportunity for the company’s professionals to accelerate their capabilities and improve their qualifications in administrative, financial, and managerial processes. “The program also connects us with potential investors and clients, opening different business opportunities. All of this represents management and organizational growth that qualifies us to expand and win new clients and markets,” concludes Maurício.

“Supporting entrepreneurship is one of the pillars of Shell’s voluntary social investment, along with access to energy and scientific education. For over 20 years, we have been working in Brazil with startups as part of our commitment to transform lives and boost the socioeconomic development of the country,” highlighted Cristiano da Costa Pinto, President of Shell Brazil, in a recent publication on his social media.

What Is the Shell StartUp Engine Program

Designed in partnership with Startupbootcamp, one of the largest startup accelerators in the world, the Program helps innovative startups build skills to drive the growth of their businesses and position themselves for success in the market.

Shell’s global program is present in various countries and provides access to exclusive resources and networks, including qualified mentors, market experts, investors, a network of Program participants, and other relevant partners in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

As an energy company leading the transition to a low-carbon future, Shell also provides participating startups with the credibility necessary to build a trust-based relationship with clients, partners, and global investors.
