New Chinese Battery Promises to Revolutionize the Electric Car Market with 1-Minute Charging and 150 km Range
A Chinese company has revealed one of the most impressive innovations seen in the electric vehicle sector. The SEVB presented the world’s first battery with a charging capacity of 1,400 A, which offers approximately 150 km of autonomy with just one minute connected to the outlet.
New Generation of Batteries
The battery Star Chaser 2.0 was showcased by SEVB during the 17th Shenzhen International Battery Fair, in China.
It represents the second generation of the system developed by the company. The previous model, launched in 2022, already offered charging at a rate of 4C, which is considered advanced.

The new version, however, achieves the level of 12C, allowing a full charge in about five minutes.
This advancement addresses one of the main concerns of drivers considering switching to electric vehicles: charging time.
While a combustion engine vehicle can be refueled in five minutes, electric vehicles still face delays in this process. The Star Chaser 2.0 emerges as a direct response to this challenge.
Technical Advances of the Star Chaser 2.0

The new system utilizes the Tianqing architecture, developed by SEVB itself. This structure supports high energy density with thermoelectric separation.
The design also includes a liquid-cooled battery disconnection unit (BDU) and the use of flexible printed circuits (FPCs) directly embedded in the batteries. This reduces space occupancy and increases the safety of the system.
Another highlight is the Xinxingchi 2.0 Kiloamp Extreme Charging Edition, a solution aimed at fast charging infrastructure.
It allows the battery to be charged with a current of 1,400 A using a 1,000 V platform in the vehicle. The result is a charging power of up to 1.4 megawatts (MW), sufficient to achieve an equivalence with combustion vehicles in terms of refueling time.
Enhanced Autonomy and Safety
SEVB claims that its new battery can deliver up to 800 km of range on a 6C charge. This number is considered a record and demonstrates that the company’s goal goes beyond just fast charging. The aim is also to ensure the necessary range for drivers who rely on long distances.
Safety has not been overlooked. The company included solutions against risks such as thermal runaway and fires.
Among the innovations are the multilayer sandwich cooling system, which increases the cooling area by 50%, and the use of aerospace-grade insulation technology.
These features allow the batteries to maintain 90% of their energy capacity even at -20°C and to function normally under conditions of up to -40°C. This way, the technology is prepared for extreme climate regions without losing efficiency.
Application in Different Types of Vehicles
The innovation is not limited to four-wheeled vehicles. SEVB is also implementing these technologies in two-wheeled models.
A new set of batteries with 6C charging and ultra-low resistance has been specially designed for this type of transport.
According to the company, this system reduces heat generation by up to five degrees, enhancing the safety and durability of the battery.
In addition to the technical aspect, the company highlighted another important point: cost.
According to information presented at the fair, the total cost of ownership of an electric vehicle with this new battery will be lower than that of a combustion model over a three-year period.
