The demand for wet Christmas trees (ANM) could reach 1290 units by 2025, which guarantees an average of approximately 260 units per year.
This year, around 11 wet Christmas trees (ANM) will be ordered by oil companies operating in Brazil, according to forecasts by the consulting firm Westwood. Brazil will invest billions in offshore and onshore oil exploration activities in 2021

Expectation of demand for wet Christmas trees (ANM) worldwide
In global terms, demand could reach 224 units, considering the price of a barrel of Brent at around US$ 50, says Westwood.
Globally speaking, Westwood says demand for ANMs could total up to 224 units, taking into account the price of a barrel of Brent in the US$50 range. Of the 224 units, 137 wet Christmas trees (ANM) are considered by Westwood as firm, 51 as probable and 32 as possible.
Globally, last year, 153 wet Christmas trees were ordered by the oil and gas industry, which represents a 33% decrease compared to 2019.
Westwood believes that medium-term projections, by 2025, the demand for equipment could reach 1290 units, which guarantees an average of approximately 260 units per year.
Of which, 43% will come from the demand for projects in Latin America, due to the evolution of pre-salt projects and in the Stabroek block, in Guyana.
Understand how a wet Christmas tree (ANM) works
The ANM most used in oil prospecting in Brazil and in the world is called conventional or vertical. It is fitted to the wellhead and connected to a Production Adapter Base (BAP), an assembly that supports the control and flow lines, directly connected to the well. The ANM, on the other hand, is a block forged in a special metallic alloy, with several manual and hydraulic valves, with the function of mainly controlling the pressure of the liquids at the exit of the well.
The horizontal wet Christmas tree operates in a similar way, but its main feature is the elimination of the need for an adaptive production base. In this modality, the ANM itself acts as this base and its valves are mounted on the side.
