Equinor won Petrobras' competition and acquired 500 barrels of oil from the Atapu field, in the Santos Basin pre-salt.

Equinor was victorious in the competition from Petrobras by winning a cargo of 500 barrels of oil from the Union, from the production sharing contract for the Atapu field, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt.

Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) reported that the cargo will be available at the end of September. The Norwegian company offered the highest price for oil in the Union based on the Reference Price established by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

Equinor's first competitive participation

Nine companies that already have pre-salt operations were invited to participate in the competition, of which six registered. However, only the Equinor and Petrobras effectively participated in the dispute, presenting proposals. It is important to emphasize that this was the first time that the Norwegian company participated in a competitive process for the purchase of oil from the Union.

This is the second cargo commercialized by PPSA from the production sharing contract of the surplus volumes of the Atapu transfer of rights. The first cargo was also negotiated through direct sales by PPSA, being purchased by Galp, totaling 500 thousand barrels.
