Some Of The Most Popular Cars In Brazil Will Have Their Production Halted In 2025. Find Out Which Models Are Saying Goodbye And The Reasons Behind This Decision That Impacts Consumers And The Automotive Market.

The Brazilian automotive market will undergo many changes in 2025. While new models promise to shake up dealerships, some well-known vehicles will bid farewell to the Brazilian market.

The reasons vary: low sales, new environmental regulations, or strategic changes from automakers. This year, the stricter emissions standards of Proconve L8 have already had a significant impact, and the scenario is expected to remain so. Next, see five cars that will say goodbye to Brazil in 2025.

Fiat 500e: The Discreet Electric in the Brazilian Market

The Fiat 500e, an electric model that initially attracted attention for its charming design, has faced difficulties in the national market. In 2024, only eight units were sold by November, reflecting its modest performance.

Although it is still listed on Fiat’s website, the manufacturer had already promised a new shipment of cars for November of the same year, which did not materialize.

Currently, the Fiat 500e is offered in the Icon version of the 2022 line, with a suggested price of R$ 214,990. It features an electric motor with 118 hp of power and 22.4 kgfm of torque.

Even being a sustainable model, its discreet presence in the market suggests that the end of its production is near.

Kia Stonic: The Hybrid SUV That Lost Strength

The Kia Stonic, a compact SUV with a mild hybrid proposal, is also among the models that are expected to be discontinued in 2025. With timid sales in 2024, the model recorded only two units in October and ten in November, despite the arrival of the 2025 line.

The Stonic is equipped with a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine that delivers 118 hp and 17.1 kgfm of torque, along with an auxiliary engine that acts as a generator, providing a total of 120 hp.

Despite its competitive price of R$ 149,990, the fierce competition from other hybrids like the Fiat Pulse and Fastback is likely to seal its fate.

Suzuki Jimny Sierra

The Suzuki Jimny Sierra, one of the most iconic vehicles for off-road enthusiasts, also faces uncertainty.

The Proconve L8 emissions rules, which came into effect in January 2024, have put the model at risk, especially due to the lack of compliance of its engine.

Equipped with a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine that produces 108 hp at 6,000 rpm and 14.1 kgfm at 4,000 rpm, the Jimny Sierra is sold starting at R$ 149,990. It offers a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic, always with 4×4 traction and a low-range option.

Although popular in specific niches, its continuity depends on adaptations that Suzuki has not yet confirmed.

Renault Stepway

The Renault Stepway, an adventurous version derived from the Sandero, is also on the list of models expected to be discontinued. The car lost the option with the 1.6 engine in early 2024, leaving only the 1.0 version.

Throughout the year, the Stepway saw its best sales performance in October, with 516 units registered, but the numbers in the following months fell below 500 units.

The model is powered by a 1.0 naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine that generates 82 hp and 10.5 kgfm of torque, coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.

Available in the Zen version for R$ 86,990, the Stepway does not seem to have a promising future amid strong competition and changes in Renault’s strategies.

Toyota Yaris

The Toyota Yaris, available in hatch and sedan versions, has already begun its farewell. The Yaris Sedan is no longer being produced, and the hatch model has an uncertain future. The arrival of the compact SUV Yaris Cross, scheduled for July 2025, is likely to cement the end of the traditional model.

With a starting price of R$ 104,190, the Yaris hatch is equipped with a 1.5 engine producing 110 hp of power and 14.3 kgfm of torque, coupled with a CVT transmission.

Despite being efficient, the engine has not been updated to meet Proconve L8 standards, something that will be done in the Yaris Cross, confirming the replacement of the model.

The Transition Of The Automotive Market In 2025

The year 2025 marks a new era for the Brazilian automotive sector, with significant changes driven by regulations and technological advancements.

The cars that are bidding farewell reflect a trend: more efficient engines that meet environmental requirements are shaping the future.

Whether due to low uptake or the need for innovation, the exit of these five models signals the beginning of a cycle of renewal in the national market.
