It Is Urgent That The Discourse On Ending The Use Of Fossil Fuel Energy Becomes Action And That Investment In Biofuels Be The Only Path.

There is no way not to be perplexed by the terrible climate events the world has been experiencing, especially in the year 2022. That continue into the beginning of 2023. From Japan to the United States; in Brazil, the Swiss Alps, Tibet; rains and heat waves are simply annihilating. Thousands of lives have been lost.

And this scenario hasn’t mentioned the energy crisis, partly a consequence of the supply issues generated by the war between Ukraine and Russia, which in Europe has made the cost of living so high that Sophie’s choices have been made by people every day.

All these climate impacts are the result of choices we have not made until now. The choice to opt for energy that is resilient in itself, renewable energy. When solar energy and wind energy are the options, it is easier to plan to obtain them. When gas and oil run out, they simply run out.

Moreover, the volatility of the price of gas is something that has been significantly impacting companies around the world. Thus, planning or building sustainable budgets has been practically impossible, which makes the search for reliable and low-cost energy sources something that allows companies and citizens to breathe a little more easily.

The world needs to wake up to the fact that we can no longer rely on the finite energy humanity has been depending on for so many centuries. Prosperity implies proactivity. The good thing is that there are more and more software, services, technologies, and solutions available for individuals, societies, and organizations to have carbon-free energy available full time.

The issue of climate policies requires us to know that the more we demand them, the faster they will evolve, as organizations will increase their investments in technologies that assist those who wish to adapt or are already in transition. For example, banks are already providing credit for investment by companies and families for the acquisition of photovoltaic panels and the use of solar energy. Specialized consultancies are also building ESG plans to make organizations more effective.

The return of the government agency for Environment and Climate Change is also essential in this scenario. Just the indication of its restructuring is intensifying discussions about increasing the wind energy capacity throughout the country. There is no longer a need to speak of an unpredictable energy future in a scenario where solutions and incentives are emerging from all sides.

The choice to transition to the use of biofuels, or to continue using the energies previously utilized may seem risky, but it can no longer be seen as a choice. Otherwise, individuals and organizations are doomed to the volatility of fossil fuels, as well as the unpredictability of the climate and its impacts. We can no longer wait for the future to arrive, because certainly those who do so will be subject to surprises not as promising as expected.
