The ‘affordable’ Yamaha motorcycle is equipped with a 125 UBScc, SOHC, air-cooled, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine powered by gasoline. The engine delivers 9.8 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and 1 kgfm of maximum torque at 5,500 RPM.
The Yamaha scooter features electronic fuel injection and CVT automatic transmission. The Yamaha Neo 125 UBS delivers an average fuel consumption of approximately 40 km/l. With a fuel tank of 4.2 liters, the scooter has a range of over 160 km when the tank is full.

According to Yamaha, one of the most highlighted points by the public looking for this model is the extreme ease of riding. This is because, in addition to being the lightest scooter at just 97 kilograms when fueled, the seat of the Neo 125 UBS is only 77.5 centimeters from the ground, making it easier for even shorter riders to reach the ground.
The CVT automatic transmission, which eliminates gear shifts, enhances comfort. The model also features footrests for added convenience, safety, and protection against dirt and water.

The affordable Yamaha Neo 125 UBS comes with bag hooks and a 14-liter storage compartment located under the seat. It can fit an open face helmet of the jet type, and the opening of the compartment is done with a simple touch of the ignition key.
The model features 14-inch wheels, the largest in the 125cc category, making it easier to navigate uneven pavement. The lighting system includes 3 LED headlights, one high beam and two low beams.
Regarding the brakes, the setup consists of a disc system (200 mm in diameter) at the front and a drum system (130 mm) at the rear, along with the exclusive Yamaha Unified Brake System (UBS).
The system distributes braking between the front and rear wheels using only a single lever, the one on the left side. To park, the Neo 125 UBS is equipped with an Auto-Stop system integrated into the side stand, which automatically shuts it off when engaged. The model comes with a 4-year warranty and Fixed Price Maintenance.
How Much Does the ‘Affordable’ Yamaha Motorcycle Cost in the Brazilian Market?
The Yamaha Neo 125 UBS is available through the dealer network, with a suggested retail price starting at R$ 12,490 + freight. There are three color options available: Racing Blue (Metallic Blue), Midnight Black (Metallic Black), and Matt Grey (Matte Grey).
It’s worth mentioning that the brand is continuously investing in new models, and recently announced the arrival of the Yamaha Jog 125 2024 in the Japanese market. This is a 50cc two-stroke model from the 90s.
However, the current Yamaha motorcycle only shares the name as a resemblance, given that the small motorcycle offers a more modern package. The price of the ‘affordable’ Yamaha motorcycle is 264,000 yen, which is equivalent to about R$ 8.6 thousand in direct conversion. But in Brazil, the model is available starting at R$ 13 thousand.
