A new 110 km highway could be implemented between Caçador and Canoinhas, reducing distances and benefiting cities like Timbó Grande and Calmon. The project, estimated at R$ 400 million, foresees the paving of SC-459 and SC-120, in addition to the improvement of the infrastructure for transport and economy of the region. The initiative already has R$ 1.5 million guaranteed for the initial development of the project.

The road infrastructure plays an essential role in the economic development and quality of life of the population.

However, the absence of adequate paved roads is still a challenge for many regions, directly impacting the transport of goods, the mobility of residents, and the growth of various productive sectors.

In light of this scenario, a new highway proposal promises to boost the economy and transform connectivity between strategic municipalities.

The so-called Contested Highway could receive an estimated investment of R$ 400 million for its implementation, connecting the cities of Caçador and Canoinhas, passing through Timbó Grande and Calmon.

The project, which foresees the paving of existing roads, was recently presented by the Caçador Business Association, gathering business and political leaders from the region.

The proposal aims to reduce distances, improve the flow of production, and foster local economic development.

Division in Stages Ensures Progressive Advancement

The execution of the Contested Highway is planned to occur in two phases. The first phase covers a stretch of 43 km between Caçador and Timbó Grande, passing through Calmon.

Currently, the paved connection between these municipalities totals 142 km, but with the new road, the traveled distance would drop to 60 km.

The proposed route in this first phase involves the paving of sections of SC-459 and existing municipal roads.

This would bring direct benefits for local mobility and the agricultural sector, which uses these routes for the transport of products.

The second phase of the project foresees the paving of the stretch of 66 km between Timbó Grande and Canoinhas, using SC-120 as the base.

The proposal aims not only to facilitate the movement of vehicles but also to improve the socioeconomic development indicators of surrounding cities, such as Timbó Grande, Calmon, Lebon Régis, Matos Costa, and Bela Vista do Toldo.

Estimate of Costs and Sources of Funding

According to the studies presented, the total estimated cost of the work is around R$ 400 million, with R$ 387 million allocated for the paving of the 110 km and R$ 7 million for the engineering project.

A parliamentary amendment of R$ 1.5 million, authored by federal deputy Valdir Cobalchini (MDB), has already been allocated to finance the development of one of the stages of the project.

In addition, the state government will be sought to evaluate the feasibility of the work and possible sources of funding.

Impact on Regional Development

The construction of the Contested Highway could represent a milestone for the infrastructure of the region, directly benefiting sectors such as agriculture, industry, and commerce.

The logistical flow of goods will be optimized, reducing costs and travel time, in addition to attracting investments to the municipalities crossed by the road.

Moreover, the improvement in road infrastructure will also impact the mobility of residents, providing more safety and comfort for those who depend on these roads daily, whether for personal or professional travel.

The mobilization to make the project viable is progressing, with the active participation of business and political leaders.

The next step will be to seek government support and conduct more detailed technical studies to consolidate the initiative.

Challenges and Next Steps for the New Highway

Although the Contested Highway project is promising, some challenges need to be overcome for the work to materialize.

According to experts, obtaining funding is one of the main obstacles, as the economic viability of the highway depends on the commitment of the state government and the pursuit of partnerships with the private sector.

Additionally, environmental and territorial impact issues will need to be analyzed, ensuring that the work is carried out sustainably.

Another relevant point is the execution schedule, which has not yet been concretely defined.

Detailed technical studies will be essential to establish an efficient planning, providing realistic deadlines for each phase of the paving and minimizing negative impacts on the daily routine of the involved cities.

The expectation is that, with the mobilization of leaders and the involvement of different governmental spheres, the project will advance beyond the study phase and become a reality that benefits the entire region.

É o estado fazendo rodovias para depois entregar para uma concessionária explorar.
Porque não entrega o projeto nas mãos da concessionária? Ela constrói para depois explorar. Parem com desperdício de dinheiro do contribuinte!!!!
