Inpasa, one of the largest corn ethanol producers in Latin America, has expanded its operations in Brazil since its arrival in February 2019. Corn Ethanol Solidifies as a Complementary Biofuel
According to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, corn ethanol accounts for about 18% of the national ethanol production, complementing the volume produced from sugarcane. This biofuel emits up to 70% less greenhouse gases compared to gasoline, according to Embrapa Agroenergia. Simultaneously, the company expects to produce 2.95 million tons of DDGS, destined for the domestic market and export. The targets follow technical criteria and comply with parameters of the biofuels sector, according to guidelines from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
