The exports from Paraná reached a new level in 2025, reflecting the state’s ability to adapt to the global scenario and diversify its trade destinations, according to a report published.
From January to September, Paraná exported US$ 17.7 billion, recording a positive balance of US$ 2 billion against imports of US$ 15.6 billion, according to the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC) and Ipardes.
This performance positions the state as the 5th largest exporter in Brazil and the leader in the South of the country.

The arrival of products from Paraná to 209 international markets confirms a consistent expansion movement, driven by sectors such as agribusiness, the automotive industry, and the energy sector.
Amid the transformations of global trade, Paraná demonstrates a solid capacity for innovation and competitiveness, sustaining its prominence in Brazilian exports.
Growth in Agricultural Exports Drives New International Markets
Exports from Paraná continue to have soybeans as their main driver, with US$ 3.7 billion exported and a 20.9% share in the trade balance.
Soybean meal, accounting for US$ 953.2 million, also reinforces Paraná’s presence in the markets of Asia and the Middle East.
However, China reduced its purchases, representing 23.7% of exports, down from 28.5% the previous year, reflecting the decreased use of soybean meal in animal feed.
This change opened space for new destinations, such as India and Iran, which significantly increased their acquisitions of agricultural and industrial products.
India, for example, increased its share from 1.8% to 2.7%, driven by crude soybean oil, which totaled US$ 338.8 million, accounting for 71.6% of exports to the country.
Paraná Industry Modernizes Processes and Expands Automotive Exports
Industrial modernization has ensured that exports from Paraná also advance in higher value-added sectors, such as automotive and chemical.
Argentina, the main destination for cars produced in the state, nearly doubled its share of imports, jumping from 4.3% to 8.2% between 2024 and 2025. Vehicle sales grew 253%, reaching US$ 367.7 million, according to Ipardes.
Additionally, organic and metallurgical chemicals saw significant growth in exports to India, with positive changes of 37.4% and 24.9%, respectively.
These advances indicate an industry in tune with global market demands and reinforce Paraná’s role as an exporting hub for high industrial value goods.
Commercial Expansion with Asian Countries Strengthens Paraná’s Trade Balance
The geographical diversification of exports from Paraná has been a strategic differential. Countries such as Iran and Singapore significantly increased their purchases.
Iran accounted for 2.5% of the state’s external sales, with US$ 434.7 million, of which US$ 269.8 million came from cereals, a growth of 476.6% compared to 2024.
Meanwhile, Singapore increased its share from 1.3% to 1.9%, highlighting oils and fuels, which totaled US$ 222.6 million from January to September, a rise of 101.6%.
These relationships consolidate the strategy of expanding trade partnerships beyond the traditional China–United States axis, ensuring greater stability against fluctuations in economic powers.
Agricultural and industrial products ensure a positive balance in the trade balance
With exports from Paraná totaling US$ 17.7 billion, the positive trade balance of US$ 2 billion highlights the state’s productive strength.
Of the exported values, US$ 10.5 billion correspond to food, including fresh chicken meat (US$ 2.6 billion and 14.8% of the total), raw sugar (US$ 830.7 million), paper (US$ 618.5 million), and cereals (US$ 616.8 million).
According to Jorge Callado, president of Ipardes, Paraná “has been increasing exports to markets such as Argentina, India, Iran, and Singapore, adding value to industry and agricultural production.”
This combination of industrial technology and rural productivity strengthens the state’s role as one of the major players in Brazilian foreign trade, standing out for its logistical efficiency and international competitiveness.
