Both deals were made at the Paris Air Show. With this, Embraer will allow the Brazilian Air Force to access the list of aircraft updates
During the Paris Air Show International event, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) announced its intention to carry out a technological update on the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, in partnership with Embraer, which are an international sales success and are used by several air forces around the world. The FAB currently has 60 of these Embraer models in its fleet, according to the website Petronotícias.
The partnership with Embraer will allow the FAB to have access to a list of updates already implemented throughout the aircraft's life, as well as the possibility of developing new functionalities and capabilities. This technological update by FAB and Embraer aims to ensure that aircraft are always equipped with the most advanced in terms of performance and operational capabilities.
The FAB's 60 A-29 aircraft with Embraer are distributed in five squadrons and have accumulated more than 325 flight hours. They play a crucial role in the Brazilian territory, carrying out training missions, aerial interception, surveillance and also being part of the renowned Air Demonstration Squadron, better known as the “Esquadrilha da Fumaça”.
With this technological update, FAB and Embraer reaffirm their commitment to maintaining a modern and efficient fleet, ready to meet operational demands and defend Brazilian airspace with excellence.
Another surprising announcement in the aircraft sector
Also during the Paris Air Show International, in addition to the announcement by Embraer and the FAB, IndiGo, India's largest airline by market share, made an impressive announcement by signing an order for 500 aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. This agreement sets a new record as the largest single purchase agreement in the history of commercial aviation.
With this order, the total number of Airbus aircraft ordered by IndiGo reaches 1.330, making it the biggest customer in the family A320 worldwide, even more than Embraer. This strategic partnership between IndiGo and Airbus further strengthens their relationship and highlights the airline's commitment to democratizing affordable air travel for millions of people in an ever-growing aviation market.
Christian Scherer, Commercial Director and Head of International Airbus, highlighted the importance of this historic milestone in the aircraft industry, saying that the order marks a new chapter in the partnership between Airbus and IndiGo. He pointed out that the Indian airline is playing a key role in making air travel more accessible to an ever-increasing number of people.
Headquartered in New Delhi, IndiGo already has a fleet of 264 A320 family aircraft in operation, which makes it one of the biggest in the world. This significant new order further reinforces its position as one of the industry's leading airlines and its determination to continue expanding its operations to meet the growing demand for air travel in India and beyond.
